  1. Hprp special option test on probation

Do your probation terms state that you can't drink alcohol?
  2. Loss of all personal freedom.

Except the Voting Rights Act which made poll taxes and literacy tests illegal wasn't passed until 1965. Betty Friedan didn't publish The Feminine Mystique - which detailed the repression of women outside of the domestic sphere - until 1963. Kent Stat...
  3. Need some guidance

Unfortunately your court monitoring probably won't count towards the BON-enforced monitoring so you'll have another 5 years of UAs and AA meetings and license stipulations. But hopefully it'll help convince the BON to let you reinstate your license w...
  4. Marijuana

She should buy a home test kit and see if she's positive. Most employers use similar cut-offs/sensitivities although some do use more sensitive testing -- if she's pos on a home kit, she'll almost definitely pee hot for the drug screen.
  5. Clinging To Hope

Are you applying for non-hospital jobs as well? Dialysis, SNFs, psych facilities, the usual gamut of restriction friendly jobs? Where are the nurses in your IPN group getting jobs? Can one of them put in a good word?
  6. What can I take...?

Plain Allegra was on our acceptable list of OTC medicines to take -- I was in Kansas' program. I think it would be fine. Anything -d will show up as amphetamines though.
  7. What can I take...?

I took plain Zyrtec and Claritin (not the -d formulation), usually stacked with tylenol, and never had an issue. And used a nettipot for congestion.
  8. I would just ask your counselor if they will report this. Otherwise you're trying to calculate odds with very little information and gonna drive yourself crazy doing so.
  9. CA BRN Probation

I don't think voluntarily surrendering your license in CA will make you ineligible for keeping your license in other states....
  10. Inconsistencies in Recovering Nurses

You should read some of Bryan Stevenson's works. What you're describing stretches to all corners of the justice system.
  11. How serious is a verbal warning really?

What a depressing world view. Hospitals should have adequate float or PRN staff to cover call-outs. If my illness is not their responsibility, their lack of planning is not my responsibility. Are you against taking vacations too?
  12. Getting charged in multiple states?

I would be more concerned about accruing criminal charges in other states. Your ability to practice nursing is moot if you're in prison.
  13. Getting charged in multiple states?

If you're asking this question because that other state is also going to find dirt on you -- please get a good lawyer. Otherwise, like gabby said, the domino effect on other state licenses is par for the course.
  14. please tell me when this is over this is over

I've been out of the program since June!! Sorry my wording makes it sound like it happened this week or something lol. The board meeting to determine whether I was eligible for release DID get moved. So I was anticipating getting to know whether I ha...
  15. please tell me when this is over this is over

I got the email from my program director that I had "graduated" on Sunday, tried to log into Affinity on Monday and got the screen saying my account was closed. I think I tried on Tuesday just to make sure. :) Got a letter later that week stating I h...
  16. Money is tight

I worked part time as a cashier at a grocery store and made $11/hr. I think Aldi's pays $12.50/hr. I was also offered a cashier job at Target which I turned down. I was worried I wouldn't get hired because I was over-educated for the positions but th...
  17. To be or Not to be .. a Nurse again?

You don't retake boards but you'll need a refresher course since it's been 5 years according to Google plus whatever hoops the BON and IPN want you to do. Sometimes you have to do a year or more of drug testing before they'll even think about reinsta...
  18. Milestones.

This time of year is so...weird for me. I have roughly 1400 days sober and will have 4 years of sobriety if I make it to May 1st. (Not reason to assume I won't, but never say never!) If I make it to four years of sobriety, I have will have been sober...
  19. Milestones.

Thank you! Have you been to Rome? I am a huge history buff. Thought Rome would be overrated but it really was great, esp if you hit the smaller attractions and museums outside the Forum and Colosseum.
  20. Milestones.

Thanks! We aren't really all-inclusive/lay at the beach types lol. I'd rather do something more adventurous and off the beaten path, and so would he, but it's his brother and all that jazz so we'll probably bum around the nearest town and do excursio...
  21. In my state the one year monitoring program is an "extended evaluation" meant for people without obvious drug or etoh problems.
  22. License by Endorsement

I would contact the BON to see if they will let you transfer at all while in an active monitoring program. Some states won't. Also not sure how far along you are in monitoring but if they will let you transfer, you usually have to start over...
  23. Bored, Trying to figure out what to do.

Maybe the OP is just smarter than you?
  24. Suspended Licence

I like how this is the de facto response on here. Lawyers aren't magicians. The OP knowingly broke their monitoring contract. What happens from here is probably outlined explicitly in the contract they signed. A lawyer is expensive when you're out of...
  25. Suspended Licence

That blows. Giving you the courtesy of a heads up would be treating you as something other than sub-human which unfortunately isn't how many of these programs operate. I'd refer back to your consent agreement to see what's next, consider consulting l...
