    Carroll Community College Transfer program

Has anyone gone through Carroll community colleges nursing transfer program? In your opinion how were the classes? What Maryland nursing schools accept credits and what did you pay for tuition at Carroll and for nursing school at another Maryland college? My boyfriend is trying to go through college to become an RN, and I'm trying to research the programs. Any information about this program would be great. Thank you in advance!

Is nursing is not anything but a glorified CNA position?

    No, not at all!

What happens in your NICU when you are short staffed?

In the hospital I work at there was an incidence the other week where there was a short staffed nursing-unit. Our unit offered up some of our RN's, but they declined because one of their on-call nurses was coming in. So thats what my hospital does I guess. It was a matter of scheduling issues, they said. Best of luck. :)

Certifications to help a new grad interested in NICU

Just out of curiosity, would it be more beneficial to be a PCT or unit secretary in the NICU?

how old is to old for medsurge

A lot of new graduate nurses choose the med surge floor because it has a wide variety of cases, and they dont know what or if they want to specialize. I doubt you are too old! New grads need the veteran nurses to help and teach them along! :)

Complete list of NNP graduate programs

Is there any online or in Maryland, Washington DC, or Delaware? And the West Virginia link is broken.
  8. My dream job is to be a neonatal nurse practitioner, but I cannot seem to find any universities or colleges that have a program for that in Maryland or even DC. So if anyone knows of anything it is greatly appreciated. And also, if you are a neonatal nurse practitioner in MD, how do you like it, as compared to being just a RN-neonatal nurse? Thanks soo much, in advance! :)
  9. Salisbury University in MD has a very-high pass rate for the NCLEX-RN Exam! Good Luck! :)

    Is the pay enough?

You'll probably be making around $27,000 a year (from indeed.com's statistics for Ohio). And, from what I've heard it is better to just go the 2 extra years and do RN because the pay is $20-$30 higher (what they said) and they are phasing out lpn's nowadays...again from what I've been told :) Good Luck!
