  1. Letters of support for dismissal from RN program

  2. Go ahead...ask me!

Oh, and what shoes you sportin'? :)
  3. Go ahead...ask me!

You're awesome! Thanks for doing this! What books do you find the most helpful when doing care plans, studying for exams, and preping for the NCLEX (as side from the books the school makes you purchase)? Also, how are you paying for school?
  4. Are private LPN/LVN schools worth it?

you have to prove cause-abuse, neglect, etc and i think it only applies if you're under 18
  5. Are private LPN/LVN schools worth it?

Sorry, that's a total bummer. I looked at the website and I couldn't find any information on the cost. All I see is an entrance fee, study guide and appl fee. What's the total cost of the program? Also, a CNA class shouldn't cost you anymore then $60...
  6. Non-nursing major graduate wants DNP!

If the OP already has a bachelor's why would she go for a traditional bsn? That would take another 3-4 years. That's absurd. Go for the ABSN or ELM, it's faster and the wiser decision then an ADN. Allen college also offers an ABSN in your state. htt...
  7. Rejected again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, that really sucks. I wonder why you're getting rejected if your GPA is good. Hmmm...something must be missing...What type of RN program are you applying for-ASN, diploma, BSN?
  8. Are private LPN/LVN schools worth it?

Why don't you get financial aid and go for the RN? Most of the time, if you qualify, grants pay for most of your education and then, you can have loans for living expenses.
  9. Non-nursing major graduate wants DNP!

5-6 years for a BSN? where did you get that number. Most ABSN take 11-16 months, and an ELMs can range from 2.5-3.5 years.
  10. Non-nursing major graduate wants DNP!

Hi Ashley, there are a few entry level masters programs for NP. Like the a previous poster mentioned, you do about 12 months of bsn level work and take your nclex then, you go straight into the MSN-NP portion. Samuel Merritt offers a program like thi...
  11. Direct Entry BSN or NP?

If you did the ELM-NP you would have to move out of state or go to a private university? Considerably, more expensive...stick with the absn. It seems the most cost effective, which is your main concern.
  12. Failed the TEAS 5

    Get the ATI study guide!
  13. BSN for sure.
  14. Can anyone please me I'm undecided about nusing and pre-med?

It's ironic that someone who wants to go into research is completely clueless about the fundamental difference between a nurse, nurse practitioner, and md. You can't just do nursing for 2 years??? Also, you do realize you need to take standardized ...
  15. Can anyone please me I'm undecided about nusing and pre-med?

If research is what you want then you should go for a PhD. There are schools that offer a MD/PhD...very competitive. I suggest you see how University life treats you and decide from there. It's difficult to know what your true calling is when you're ...
  16. Extremely Stressed! Please Help!

Did you take these classes at a cc? If you did, I'd retake those classes somewhere else.
  17. Samford University

Yep, loans for me too. I hate private loans, but I guess there's no choice. Debt is no fun, but luckily, we'll be clear of it in no time! I'm still on the fence with Samford (mostly just about moving to Birmingham), but it would definitely be nice to...
  18. Samford University

by the way, how are you planning to pay for the program? I'm a little worried about this....loan? *yikes*
  19. Samford University

Nicely done!! Yay on the acceptance!! Maybe, we'll be classmates! Mine is in the morning. I just hope it all goes over smoothly! Hopefully, I have good news to report back to you soon :)
  20. Samford University

  22. Samford University

Hi Gual~ How'd the interview go today?
  23. Overheard "You're there to make money, not to talk," in clinical

My comment was deleted. Oh well...I was just pointing out the fact that it's not always about the money.
  24. I retook one of my prereqs for a higher grade and was still able to get into absn programs. I would explore more schools to increase your chances of getting in. Maybe you could raise your GPA and show how committed you are to nursing by taking a CNA ...
  25. Is it worth it? What are your thoughts?

60 K for a bsn from a good school is not that much. If this is something you really want to do then go for it. Just plan ahead. Budget, budget, budget.
