You can do this. I was 46 when I graduated from my ADN program. Most of my classmates range from the mid 30's, 40's, and one student was 60 years old when she started.

Anyone attending Thomas Edison State College RN to BSN?
I am currently enrolled and I like it. There are no dreaded group projects. The papers are doable. It suits my schedule perfectly. As long as you earn 3 credits a year you are considered enrolled, and I have be going off and on since 2008.

Online RN Programs???? Other than Chamberlain and Excelsior
Ok..the two classes I have taken so far health assessment and statistics for healthcare professionals, consisted of posting to discussion questions, short paper, and for stats power point assignments. The best part is no group projects. As far as will taking these classes make you a better nurse, it depends on what you get out of it and your mentor. The health assessment class was great. The discussion questions highlighted a few areas I wanted to focus on for my practice, and the mentor was great. As for stats, no comment:D Diva_nurse

Online RN Programs???? Other than Chamberlain and Excelsior
No clinicals are required and the cost for out of state students for the RN - BSN program is $386.00 per credit. You do have to pay a credential review fee of $300.00 and a $75.00 app fee. Kind of steep but its worth it. I have a non-nursing bachelors as well as a ADN so the only class I have to take are the upper level nursing courses (8) Diva_nurse

Online RN Programs???? Other than Chamberlain and Excelsior
No I have not finished yet..but I like it. You have to be very motivated and self directed. The program is only eight classes and as long as you take at least one class a year, you are considered enrolled. Diva_nurse

Which RN-BSN online program did you chose and why ?
I took two classes online at Thomas Edison....no group projects...just posting once a week/a few projects/and for one class a short paper..it was a good experience...I would continue to attend there but I'm going for the MSN ( have a bachelors in a different area) and you have to either have a BSN or go through the BSN/MSN program

Husband Trying to Discourage Me from Nursing
Uh I have to disagree with your comment regarding fear of HIPPA. The hospital I work at does not allow the nurses to discuss test results with the patients/family members until the physician has spoken to the family first. Many times I have referred the patient/family member to the doctor because he/she must discuss test results with them first. I know it is frustrating for families but better to get it from the horses mouth first. Just my 2 cents Diva_nurse

One or Two hour rounding
Our hospital started 1 hour rounding a few weeks ago and the nurses hate it because with charting and other paperwork to do you have less time. Plus, a few patients complained that they were kept awake all night long because the nurse kept coming into their room. diva nurse
