  1. New Grad Entitlement

Very nice post OP! While I don't agree with the advice "to fake it", a surgeon's advice to me once was, "Never let them see you sweat."
  2. EC RN-BSN? Yes or no?

Thank you for your insight Melody. Did you do your ADN through EC as well, and could you offer a comparison of what the BSN is like vs the ADN if you did? How long did it take you to make it through the BSN @ Excelsior? I thought I read a few week...
  3. Passed NCLEX RN

I started EC in 2009 and took my NCLEX RN 1/5/2011 and passed with 75 questions. For those students struggling along what seems like endless hours of content guides, books, mnemonics, simulation labs and seeking that perfect care plan, please hang ...
  4. Starting with Health Safety here is my schedule...

I think Tasha, the original poster, is just about done! I believe she is FCCA passed & CPNE ready :yelclap:
  5. EC BSN Program

I am looking into the MSN option Beachie, but the odds of a career in nursing education around my area would be so slim that I have put that on the back burner for now. There was a sticky in our distance learnin board before we converted to this new...
  6. Do you really need a workshop to pass CPNE?

"Let's Conquer the CPNE beast together" is one of them
  7. EC Students how are you preparing for NCLEX

I studied for about 4-8 hours a day for 3 weeks, and that was almost all content review. I did very little test questions/qbank/etc. After review the Kaplan strategies/review book, I was pretty confident that I had been using good critical thinking...
  8. EC BSN Program

I agree, I got the same bunch of crap mailed to me and it didn't answer any or my questions...when I called to get get some answers I got the same crap mailed to me again
  9. EC Students how are you preparing for NCLEX

I remember feeling the exact same way! I started with review acidosis/alkalosis/electrolytes and lab values. I used my Saunder's book mostly for that review and I also did a quick search on the main lab values on http://www.quizlet.com I found o...
  10. Studyguide 101 content

Did you try the EC practice exams yet, and if so, how did you feel about those?
  11. Studyguide 101 content

Some of us just finished the program :)It all boils down to what works for the individual & their study needs. Some will make with notes, others need to do things via the more traditional route (including the practice exams) like me.
  12. Studyguide 101 content

I finished the program this fall, and I tried Lisa Arrends for Chronicity and studygroup101 for transitions for Chronicity and transitions, as well as all of required text books, and there is no way I would have passed, much less passed with my 3.4 g...
  13. studying for CPNE on a budget??

You are off to a great budget if your hospital provided you with sim lab supplies! That is great! I did have Rob's videos and I thought they were a good tool to get started with, but fine tune them with the 18th edition of the study guide, and make ...
  14. I just took my NCLEX RN at 0800 and did the PearsonVue trick, and it states "you have recently scheduled this exam and are not allowed to reschedule at this time. Contact your BON for more details." Scheduled Vs Passed. Wondering what this wording...

  20. WAY TO GOO!!!!! :w00t: Can you fill us on on your study method? I thought it would have been impossible for me to be worked up for anything after CPNE, but I have managed my typical crazy-like-a-fox testing obsession once again. Kaplan review/str...
  21. Hardest EC Exam

I actually thought Transitions was the most difficult and enjoyed LS1-3, go figure. I wasn't a big fan or Repro either.
  22. help studying for nclex

I found NCSBN to have the most challenging questions so far, with Kaplan's questions a bit easier and Saunders to be the easiest I didn't purchase a large package from Kaplan, I only did the one free online test that I was given with my Kaplan's NCL...
  23. help studying for nclex

I did Saunders with my nursing exams, used Kaplan's review book and 3 week NCSBN online, which I find extremely challenging, considering moving my NCLEX one more week....ugh...
  24. Missed you all, took NCLEX, good pop-up!

WAY TO GO!!! I am still scheduled for Jan 4, but I may move it a week or 2. I am only doing Kaplan Review, NCSBN online and Saunders and I think I need more pharmacology prep. I have not been practicing calculating BMI, surface areas, etc. Con...
