  1. A nurse by any other name...

OMG it must be by the same company I work at. I'm a CNA, but where I work now, my title has changed 2x since Ive been there. Its never been CNA. I think now its something like "Certified Resident...
  2. When did patients become "clients"?

Maybe it's my cynical retail mind but to me a client is someone who is only there to make you money. In calling someone a patient, to me, it implies that there is a medicinal/ethical need to help them...
  3. What kills me..... (VENT)!!!

Just a thought, but I was brought to allnurses.com through a Facebook add. There is software that somehow gleans from my profile that I *might* be interested in this site, so it recommended it Both...

  8. What are the worst call in excuses you've heard?

Wish it could be that easy. I rarely call off and always for a REAL reason. But the LTC facility I work for now, requires staff calling in sick to come in to be evaluated by one of the staff nurses....
  9. Toileting Bariatric Patients

The hospital in our area is newly remodeled and and each unit has specially designed Bariatric room. Lift built right above the bed on a track; it can move the pt right into the shower or the toilet....
  10. Two cna job offers!!! Which one????

Depends ... are you a nursing student? Do you have previous CNA experience? I would lean toward the med/onc job myself. I've worked split shifts, and i would not want to get into that again! Straight...
