hi ocalamom, i just took the hesi in mid-june at cf, and got my acceptance letter to the spring 2011 full-time class last week. the hesi is composed of several parts, all of which you take, but only four of which actually count. reading comprehensi...
My mother was the DON at Marion House when they did that program but she says she doesn't think they do it anymore. Apparently they had a lot of people breaking contracts to work elsewhere after they got effectively free training. Just FYI to those...

A snotty kid once told me I could call him "Hismajesty." Not sure if that's how it's spelled, or even if he wasn't just being a smart@$$. I couldn't call him that with a straight face, so I just said "hey you."
I just had to post here to let everyone know... I'm going to be starting an ADN program in Spring 2011! I just got the letter today. Looking forward to the next two years in nursing school, and I know that AllNurses is going to be so helpful--it ...
I'm not a nursing student yet, but here's my . My gut reaction to this question is that I would have to say something or step in, I think. Especially in the hypothetical situation of the patient being completely unable to advocate for him or herself...
My fiancee's mother was in and out of the hospital for pretty much all of 2009, and repeatedly had to deal with procedures without appropriate anesthesia/pain relief. She had complications from an achilles' tendon reconstructive surgery as well as a...

From someone who went through Anatomy with a D+ then a C+, and Physiology with a C+, I didn't consider it difficult and I got an 85 or so on it. If you've taken A&P, and did decent in it, I'd say review your notes and you'll be okay. =)
Reposted from this thread in the pre-nursing students forum. =) I've been looking at some of the RN-BSN programs around the state of Florida for after I get my Associate's, and one of them is at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. If i go ...

Sounds like a lot of studying to do! With your experience and having been almost thru nursing school once, I'm sure you will do fine. =) I know how hard commuting can be, I was driving 2 hours a day to go to university, bleh. But I did it for two...

Hmm. The HESI we're referring to in this thread is the HESI Admission Assessment (HESI A2). It is basically the same idea as the NET and TEAS that other schools require. However the same company (HESI) makes exit examinations as well that are supp...

Hmm. I don't remember too many of the A&P questions because I flew through them, it was the last section I did. But I do remember there were questions about the planes (sagittal, coronal, etc. etc.), the anatomy of the heart, a few things about...

Took the HESI today, it DID NOT have a calculator, so anyone who comes to this thread wanting to know if there is one on your particular test, know that there may be, or there may not be! Also, test scores were not instant, as I had heard they were ...
I'm glad to hear you liked their BSN program. My current plan is to work for Fla Hospital for a while, then they will pay for my entire BSN through their school, then I think I'll go on to get my Master's with their school. Were you working at the s...
I've just applied for a Patient Sitter position at my local hospital and found this thread while looking for advice... So far I like the sound of the job, but the description the hospital gave online included the phrase "must be able to handle diffic...

Haven't read all of the posts in this thread so I'm sorry if I'm repeating anything, but BIGWORDS.COM is a great website, found it invaluable the last few semesters. Basically you put the ISBN of each book you need into their search engine and it wi...
