My plan is to go through with the SW BOCES program and get my LPN. After getting that, I'm not sure if my husband and I will be moving or not. So if we do, I'll just start a 2 year RN program wherever we go. If we don't, I'll work as an LPN for 1 ...

Oh, Dutchess BOCES has their agreement with Dutchess Community College. Ha, don't know how I missed that obvious note. Here, go to this site and click your area. It will bring up a list of accredited LPN programs in that area, and under each school...

That is one of my concerns as well. My preference was WCCC for the LPN program, so that I could complete my bridge program there...but the Fall 2010 semester was full and it doesn't start up again until Fall 2011...which I refuse to wait for. I fig...

Westchester Community College has a 2 year associate's degree program that says, "Advanced placement in the nursing curriculum is available for Licensed Practical Nurses." Not sure what the requirements are, but it's worth looking into! Maybe you d...

Yeah, I'm completely serious! I wish we didn't have to work for a year. It'd be better if we could just go straight to Helene Fuld after graduating BOCES...but I understand that we need the experience!
StephanieP2009 replied to MrsPerezLPN's topic in New York
I know! I want to get into Helene Fuld also! We should definitely have a study group. And as sick as this sounds...I can't wait for homework. Hahahhahaha. I'm a nerd and proud!

Holy crap, $10,000 a semester is RIDICULOUS! Then again, I paid $30,000 per year for college in MA. At Dominican, is it a 2 semester program? And I am totally with you on being excited for school. It's all I think about as well. I want to go buy ...

I think that "technically", the only bridge program that has accepted SWBOCES credits is Helene Fuld in Harlem. But, if you work for 1 year as an LPN after the program, I think any bridge program would accept you. Most of them just have requirement...

I think you could probably get a loan without risking anything, but it's your choice! I know, the job market sucks so bad right now. My husband is lucky to have his job, but it's the worst run company I've ever seen and he absolutely hates it.

nttolpn - yeah i hear you! my husband works full time, but doesn't make enough to cover my half of rent and bills (suckssss), so i'm selling my car, which was my dream car, just so i can cover my half of expenses for the 10 months. hopefully he'll ...

It also depends on what type of nursing school you want to go to, and what type of nurse you want to be. I just enrolled in LPN school, which is 10 months. Plenty of community colleges and tech schools offer LPN programs with the only pre-req bein...

I'm 23. I slacked extremely bad in high school. I ALWAYS knew I wanted to be a nurse, but didn't have a high enough GPA to get into the nursing program in college, so I went in as Criminal Justice. I took some of my pre req's for nursing in colleg...

Hey again!!! Thanks for the congrats! 2BLPN - The $900 is due within 2 weeks of receiving the acceptance letter, so financial aid won't cover that. As for the $800, that's due August 30th (1 week before class starts), so I'm *assuming* that financ...
