  1. I want to vomit - 85 ?'s on NCLEX-PN

Just a question... on the NCLEX-RN, when delegating to LPNs and UAs, we are not to give LPNs anything that requires teaching... so WHY would you have to even know what to teach? What's up with that?...
  2. UV rays kill TB... just a fun little fact. This is why they put TB patients in sunrooms, or sanitoriums, (or perhaps why they worked, even if they didn't start it that way on purpose). UV rays kill...
  3. Anyone Up For Random FACT THROWING??

Calcium Gluconate should be at the bedside after thyroidectomy as well,
  4. Sorry... my fingers got a little crazy... I meant airborne and contact. Hee, good
  5. Very depressed and discouraged....,need help

I would question Marcos9999 on his timing theory... I do not know where he got this information, he even states that he doesn't know but thinks that there must be an algorithm used on NCLEX about how...
  6. At our hospital, droplet means mask. Period. You have to inhale the bacteria/virus to be infected. Once the droplets are atttached to whatever they fell on, you won't inhale them. That makes sense...
  7. Pearson Vue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 2

My friend Shawn took the NCLEX-RN on Friday. We did the PVT over the phone, and it was right! He got his quick results passing report yesterday! (now, if it'll only be the same results for me one...
  8. repeat pass rate lower than first time test takers

Way to go, tmarti! I am from a BSN program, too, and am worried about how much I forgot already. I think you and Marcos are probably right on all accounts: 1. "at risk" population 2. nerves! 3....
  9. meds you've never heard of?

yuck. Got through part one of the lecture. I have to admit, it makes a lot more sense now, but ask me tomorrow how much I actually remember... I did take notes, but man, my brain is FULL! Just 9 more...
  10. meds you've never heard of?

It's so hard to know what to really do... I am going to try to watch the online Kaplan lecture on meds tonight. Not sure I can get through it, but going to give it a
  11. NCLEX 3500: Study software for NCLEX-RN

You know, the NCLEX 4000 is out, and it's only $50... and I bet you could sell it to someone else after you pass your test. $50? That's probably two hours' wages... do you really need to risk legal...
  12. Passed NCLEX, some tips

No, sadly, the book with CD is not the one you get with the live review... the course book is filled with outlines of content material in addition to the "decision tree" and test-taking strategies....
  13. July 2010 nclex rn study group

Seriously, I think I've spent more time studying in this last month than during the entire FOUR YEARS of school (not more than the time I spent writing papers, however ). Can't wait until the 6th....
  14. July 2010 nclex rn study group

Precious2Him, I know... no one can afford Kaplan! My father paid for it, and I'll pay him back out of my first check from work (it comes in 6 days! Yay!). I said that there was no way I'd take a...
  15. wondering about late decels

I see what you are saying... I totally think this is why we all love to hate NCLEX... we all know what you'd do in real life... put on the O2, turn her on the left side, and slow the pit or stop it if...
  16. Questions vs. Content Review

Awwww, crap! :) They always said the opposite before! So much for having a chance when you've never seen that topic before... I still don't think I'd use Saunders solely... grab a book with some...
  17. failed test again

I haven't taken it yet, I will in eleven days, so I have no idea what's REALLY on the test... for what it's worth, I am taking Kaplan because I had a really hard time understanding WTH the practice...
  18. wondering about late decels

I know that they say never to study with this philosophy, but I just hope I don't get one of these on the test... that would make it so much easier!
  19. To the droplet question... my director had a great idea today... perhaps the drops have to be inhaled to be transmitted? Ergo, no gown needed. Duh. Now, I think I remember
  20. Diagnostic exam, where to get?

Sounds like you are on the right path... finding your weaknesses IS how you will pass this beast. Me, I read into everything, and soon I am making up my own scenarios for each question. Yes, I know...
  21. Practice exams....what do the scores mean??

I agree with Redknights. For some other companies, you could be getting in the 90s to compare to a 68ish in Kaplan. There is a huge difference, so don't be complacent with a 68 if it's in a book that...
  22. wondering about late decels

I am almost completely totally positive about this... I have had this question in more than one source. IF you are administering pit, and the baby is having late decels, you STOP THE PIT, then...
  23. Anyone Up For Random FACT THROWING??

It's easier for me just to think: is it the bicarb, or the CO2 that's wrong? If it's bicarb, it's metabolic, if it's CO2, then it's respiratory. But for those who have a hard time with this one,...
  24. Anyone Up For Random FACT THROWING??

Hi Meantobenurse, I believe that if the last question you had was above the passing level, application or analysis, iow, you passed, whether or not you got it right. On the other hand, if it was a...
  25. Really nervous about taking NCLEX...Help!!!

I think that some SATA are lower-level questions, though... it depends on the actual question. I don't think you can guess how you are doing based on the SATA, because I've seen it both ways, people...
