  4. If money is tight.. the ADN route is good...community colleges are reasonable and most have great programs, then you go do either brick and mortar or online to get BSN or better yet do RN to MSN...
  5. Applying to other states, but not licensed by the state

That is a shame...but maybe you need to call more than 2 places. Of course you need to make it very clear regardless of being a RN you could only do non-licensed help. Your EMT/Fire Dept background...
  6. Becoming a nurse with being bipolar

What is you were in another field and had big responsibilities.. Many tell me their jobs are more stressful then nursing..kinda a personal perspective.. Would your life not be stressful then. My point...
  7. Email resignation?

This is true.. but when a past employer states you are not eligible not rehire, they can not say why.. so new employer tends to think the worst. I am sorry but reality is at will employment favors one...

  10. Becoming a nurse with being bipolar

Hit the road jack!! Now.. before they destroy your self esteem and
  13. Did you look at online accelerated programs?? There are some, costs vary, but you can find some within reason, usually you can do clinicals where you live. Just another
  14. Etiquette ? re: getting a referral to new doc

In my opinion, your health trumps your job! Go get whatever help wherever you can however you can. You need to be your own advocate. All the other posters had great ideas for working with ins co and...
  15. How should I ask my manager...?

Simply let NM know that you are interested in day shift if any openings come up that you would qualify for. That way if there is a list you can be put on it.. But I agree do not give up on nights till...
  16. Applying to other states, but not licensed by the state

Another idea..have you tried volunteering while you are searching....health dept, clinic, hospital, Red Cross. Blood bank......I know they will limit what you can do but it does give you a reference...
  17. Applying to other states, but not licensed by the state

You could try internet search for hospitals in the area you are looking, call and try to get a real name or get thru to HR(almost impossible) and snail mail your resume or fax if you can find a good...
  18. Applying to other states, but not licensed by the state

Previous poster is correct about license answer. You need to look at states where you can get a license or temporary one in a short time...Some states take 6-8 weeks,, hard for someone to hold a job...
  19. Email resignation?

Well now.. that I know the rest of the story..I change my 2 cents...Sorry...The only reason I mention the not eligible for rehire is many years ago, I walked on a job as the administrator was verbally...
  20. I need to quit but feel like a heel.............

ADON said it all when she played the "Guilt" card with you. She knows what is happening, the DON knows what is happening. and you..as new gal on the block already know.. Let them know you worked hard...
  21. Compact States: 1 is enough?

You can only get compact for the state you are a resident...if that state is a compact state....then you can work in the other compact states until you change residency again. Compact states work best...
  22. Email resignation?

Are you afraid to call NM? As a NM I would really be upset to get an email on Monday..Really! Personally in my case my NM was as mean and meaner than you could imagine but I would still call if I had...
  23. Email resignation?

Call first, explain, then ask NM what she needs.. email, fax, mailed copy.. I would think most companies would like a fax as your signature would be on it. I had to do this once and you should know...
  24. My first OB Interview
