I know I'm a little late to this thread, but if anyone is still curious maybe this'll help. I can't speak for Tampa, but I imagine it's not too much different from Gainesville. For a brand-spanking...
Yup, everyone in the group (who is actually in the program or ***) is an administrator; I think that's the only way people in the group can send out messages to the whole group on
Pretty sure they did go out on Wednesday as scheduled, as **** took the rest of the week off. They're coming, be patient. Pretty soon you'll be pulling your hair out in nursing school wondering why...
I remember how horrible this wait was! People that are in Gainesville should be getting their letters tomorrow or Friday since they were supposed to go out today. Good luck everyone! I look forward...
Malcom Randall VA Medical Center is the other hospital in Gainesville. Their website is: http://www.northflorida.va.gov/ They take new grads into their residency program (selection process already...
Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to find a place to couchsurf for a night or two while you're looking. I've never found anything on Craigslist, but there is a free service called Apartment Hunters that...
Might be different for you guys, but we only had to take two grad classes, I think. I think both are three credits, so only about 6 credits total. Much cheaper that way! UF's standard cost...
You do get a bigger envelope if you get in....to hold all the forms to fill out, instructions etc. I dunno about being denied. I imagine it probably would be smaller though,
The requirements aren't too expensive. You'll need a stethoscope. Most people get one in the $70 range, mine was a bit nicer (a cardiology scope ~$150), but totally unnecessary to spend that much....
Hey Madden, Good luck! I have a part-time job, as do several other people. It really depends on what you can handle. The first semester (summer for us) was terrible, I would not recommend a job...
Hey KWBella, I used Barron's Passkey to the GRE. It's a tiny little book that's about $8 new. It's small enough to bring everywhere and page through, and not too intimidating to read all the way...
Yeah, 300 sounds much more reasonable, as I said 600 was probably an exaggeration. The professor that told me that is not directly involved in the selection process. However, I think that might be...
One of my clinical instructors mentioned that they receive something like 600 applications a year. To me, that seems like a grossly inflated number, but I imagine that more people are trying to go...
Like I said, very few scholarships-we don't qualify for most because we already have bachelor's degrees. I'm financing entirely with loans and a part time job. As far as I know, no one gets offered...
I'm not sure exactly what changes they're making. I think most of it will be switching up the order slightly. I think they'll be making psych and community two separate classes instead of one 4...
Go to this site to see a breakdown of estimated costs: http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/apply/coa.html I imagine the costs will be slightly different for a fall start since they're changing curriculum. Our...
I think a resume should generally be one page, highlighting important info. Try playing with fonts and formatting if it is just a little over. I think UF gives the option to submit a CV instead...
Also, you guys probably already know this, but just in case you don't-ABSN don't qualify for a lot of financial aid. Since it's a second bachelor degree, it's pretty much entirely loans: no grants,...
Is that tuition only or total cost? Right now, the estimated cost of attendance (including tuition, living expenses estimates, etc.) is about 28-29k at UF. And yeah, the apartments here are pretty...
I don't think it makes a difference when you turn your application in, so long as it's by the deadline. One of my professors actually faxed in my letter of rec on the day of the
Hey guys! Just found this thread. I'm currently in the program and I thought I'd try answering a few of your questions. Getting admitted: I had a 3.72 GPA 1430 GRE (710 Verbal, 720 Math, 5.5...
