Thinking of you this snowy day....
  5. People lose their license for unpaid taxes in some states.
  6. UM any day of the week for me. I left MDS to go for it and I am moving from office to home working. I plan to ride this horse into retirement.
  7. I would suggest checking out your state's department of health web site. They should have information on individual nursing homes via report card and survey results. In Minnesota we have a senior linkage line that can help consumers, other states might have a similar service. You could try the local community help line- here we have something called the United Way line. There is also various websites on line that might be helpful- some may be profit or not- I think of like the caregiver foundation. org or
  8. If you get busted for 'escort' work your nursing career is toast. Sell, pawn stuff- hustle yourself at a couple of jobs- temp jobs galore for the Holiday season. See if you can strike a deal with the rent people.
  9. Can you get a temp job?
  10. Greedy profit is the cause.
  11. Your coworker sounds like they need some remedial education and some critical thinking skills. What if they were having problems with OSA?
  12. You are airing your dirty laundry on an internet forum.
  13. Yes, they are usually familiar with each other in most cities of a small to mid-size. A larger area like NYC, LA and such may be less.
  14. Do you need to work? Can you take a step back and re-group for a few weeks or months without financial issues? Can you find another job? Are you having issues with non-work life? You may want to check in for counseling. I would think to assess your needs & responsibilities & resources to make a change or consider options. It sounds like you are on the road to self destruct or to get cut loose. Best to leave of your own accord than not. Get some help for insight in real life. Internet is not the best place... Best to you.
  15. You may want to clear up the warrant too, just saying...
  16. I think the way you are making your points comes across on the heavy handed side or scare them straight mentality. I believe most nurses know they can be reported to the board for anything by anyone. If I practiced in a state that would penalize or discipline a nurse for calling in sick one hour instead of two for a shift or someone who was a no call/no show for a shift with a reasonable explanation. I would be gone. We have to live our lives mindful but not in fear.
  17. There may be other reasons she didn't make it. Everyone gets a 'denied' at something. It isn't always fair. Can she reapply for another year or look elsewhere?
  18. Put out tip jar....
  19. 50 G to be able to sit/practice in 4 states? That's enough to make me gasp. I guess if you are so driven and see/have no other roads and are open to limitations it gives, well, why not?
  20. Wow, 1 week and the drama at this level. Good luck.....
  21. Mayo in Rochester is not the golden castle everyone thinks it to be.
