  4. PCCN 2014 - any & all comments appreciated

I passed with 93% !! :) I would say that Laura G's videos and book definitely helped with almost everything on the test, but I'm very glad I supplemented the cardiac section with other study materials and took the official practice exams.

  6. PCCN 2014 - any & all comments appreciated

Thank you so much for replying :) I completed the Laura G book - all 1200 questions haha - and did the online official practice exam which had only 75 questions. I got 83% on the paper official practice exam and 73% on the online exam I'm taking it...

If anyone has taken the CCRN recently, your advice would be appreciated too :)
  8. What is your watch preference?

Nursemates white nighttime watch with military & analog time and glow in the dark button, which works well for my 12 hr night shifts. I've had 3 nurse mates watches since I first started my nursing journey.
  9. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

Hi All, By some great miracle, and a lot of hard work and effort, I have been hired as a new graduate RN into Swedish Medical Center's RN Residency program. I was wondering if there were any allnurses.com members who will also be joining me this Jan ...

  11. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

Hi Jessi, Congratulations on passing! I'd rather not say r/e my unit to keep it private. I did photocopy them and keep the originals. I'll message you my email. Good luck! :)
  12. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

And yes I passed the NCLEX, thank God. The units that are short & need people change all the time, so I'm not sure which ones they are hiring for.
  13. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

Your welcome!! I also recommend bringing a portfolio to the panel interview too, & handing it to the managers. Good luck!! :)
  14. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

Phone interview questions included: Why did you choose nursing? Why is Swedish the place for you? Tell me about a time when you especially above and beyond in your nursing career? What experience do you have and how does it fit the units your interes...
  15. Swedish Medical Center RN Residency Jan 2012

Hi there Lakeunion98125 & jnkwan :) I did hand deliver my career portfolio to HR at their headquarters the following day after the social. Things I included in my career portfolio were: My resume (multiple copies), my cover letter (multiple copie...
  16. Hi all! I'll briefly sum up my story :) I'm a nursing student graduating in December who desperately wants to come home to my native Seattle/Bellevue area and work as an RN somewhere in Western WA (I say somewhere cause I'll pretty much drive anywher...
  17. NCLEX in 20 days!!! (January 15, 2013)

I just would like to 2nd your post and say that I used this prayer too (the second version) and gave it to my friend and we both passed (I with 75 Qs, taking me 3 hrs! and her with all 265 Qs). I firmly believe its a powerful prayer and I'd recommend...
  18. Hi All, My (possibly) future job as an RN resident requires I be licensed as an RN by Jan 21st. So I am scheduled for the NLCEX on Jan. 15th!! However I graduated mid-late December and I had to move back home, across the country which took up a week...
  19. Pearsonvue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 3

It works! Got quick results this morning - Passed!!! :) Thank goodness!!
  20. NCLEX in 20 days!!! (January 15, 2013)

Dubs, I called the state BON to see when my license will show up. They told me that while they can't confirm I passed technically, they did say my license will be up by the end of the week, so I take that as a good thing! :)
  21. NCLEX in 20 days!!! (January 15, 2013)

    Thank you so much!!! :)
  22. Testing in 2 weeks ~ all advice for preparation appreciated!

I called them because my hospital is breathing down my neck lol, and basically told me I better be licensed by next week or they'll rescind my position. So I called the state and told them I thought I passed and what I could do to ensure I have my li...
  23. How many weeks did you all study for the test?

To me Saunders was too easy, and Kaplan was on par with the actual NCLEX (it even has the same looking screen), but Saunders is much better for content review. They are both excellent when paired together.
  24. How many weeks did you all study for the test?

I studied for 2.5 weeks (that was all the time I had), I used Kaplan On Demand Course for practice with questions - completing the Diagnostic & Readiness tests, all Question Trainers, and 30% of the Q Bank. I studied content using the 5th Edition...
  25. Saunders review CD

Saunders is great for content, but in all respects the NCLEX is much more difficult and most closely resembles Kaplan. I recommend Saunders for review, but Kaplan to get a feel for the actual test (the screen even looks the same).
