To the OP. I admire you for your courage that many of us lack. many of us feel stuck in that profession that is supposed to noble but it become the crappiest profession by its administration. understaffed, unappreciated,and underpaid for the job we do, we cannot leave because we are afraid of loosing that paycheck. And to get of bedside nursing is not easy, every position is already filled and they need experience. Good luck JennJen512, just remember when one door is close so many windows will open up.

hello all, can anyone help me with answering these questions. i really appreciated. Anyone finished rn to bsn and applied for NP program ? do you have any problem transferring your classes?. Is WGU recognized by hospitals in Illinois ?. I'm interested to this program due to the cost as I'm unemployed RN and hospitals in Illinois won't hire a nurse without BSN. thanks in advance.

sorry to hear this, you are not alone. after just 3 years of nursing, I quitted my hospital job just 1 week ago. God I feel so relieved and I'm taking a break now. After that I will look for another job other than bedside nursing. I know that I should wait until I recure another job and the market is tight , but I think life is too short and my health is precious to me and my family. This is not a nursing that I love. We should give it another name other than nursing. I'm tired of other NURSES in management not supporting bedside nurses, just looking after themselves and their bonuses, I'm tired of patients and family who became ungratful and abusive to us because the cafeteria forget their coffee or the doctor refuse to renew their morphine. I m tired of to have 3 to 4 ICU like patients in addition to my other 3 patients, plus admission and discharge. I'm tired to do nursing job, cna job (CNA also overwelmed or some CNA just disappear) . I can't say that "I'm busy" I should say "OK,will do" with a smile. Everybody from other department say that we work very hard, did someone spoke for us (ie Doctors). the smallest mistake will do, we will get trown under the bus and every body forget other accomplishments. I wish Bedside nurses could unit and fight hospital cooporations for their right and the right of their patients. I'm so to rant but I'm one of the nurses who trown the towel and freed themselves from the "Slavery of 21st Century". To the OP, big hug :hug:

Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, women during their menstrution ,postpartum women are exempt from fasting during Ramadan. Some women fast while they are pregnant or breasfeeding. I think nobody fast during postpartum and menstruation. good luck to you.

That ridicullous, no nursing shortage in Chicago. A lot of my classmate still looking for job, I was hired in crappy hospital after 5 months on intensive job hunting. Tonight, I supposed to be working, but they cancelled me off. May be the President should read in allnurses.com forum, for reality check.

Is the pt is positive for HIV and HCV. happened to me on 02/13/09, was putting IV to a guy missed it and put it on the side when I moved my hand it structed me on the top of my finger.went to ER, blood test and started the meds (BTW those meds are horrible make you sick all the time) I found the results after 5 days of hell, the source was negative for both HIV and HEP C. Any way I read about the transmission HIV is 0.3% chance to be transmitted through needle stick, HEP C 3% and HEP B 30 %. also depend of other factors : HOW deep the injury, visible blood on the needle, the gauge of the needle. the meds even lower the chance of the transmission of HIV. talk to infectious disease doctor. my thoughts and priers are with you.

All people on the floor get their breaks except the RN !! Don't know why ? I'm new grad working for 5 months now night shift. Should the advantages the Ca nurses have be implemented for the whole country or Ca is another country and I don't know. We don't have to move to Ca for better working conditions (There is not enough jobs in Ca for all USA nurses), but may we should us ca as token to bring changes to all states. start to write your representative ( I did that, may be I' the only one writing)

Hello everybody, I'm new grad looking for job in chicago. I was looking to work in Kindred Hospital and I need some informaion Can anybody tell me what the RN-patient ratio? there in no nursing shotage in chicago, some hospitals on hiring freese and the other want just experienced rn

I don't see the need to apologize to the dc, it his job to get paged in the middle of the night ant he is paid for it with a lot more money than us , he is not doing me a personel favor. Doctors don't apologize when they treat nurses us like crap. it is our attitude that makes those dc arrogant. Sorry I'm new grad, I just started working in tele unit night shift and I saw their arrogant attitude, only few are nice. When I call one of them I don't apologize just state my name and the issue I was calling. Please stop apologizing. Sorry for my ranting
