  1. RN to BSN

Awww....Tweety, I am so glad that you are settling in. I knew you could do it and you made A's no less. You are an inspiration.
  2. Took NCLEX-PN today...

I'm inclined to think that if you finished in one hour then you probably did fine. Sending wishes your way
  3. Part-Time Nursing

Go for it. You have nothing to lose. If it doesn't work out, you will have options, right? Good
  4. I did sign up but I have not paid for the course yet. Maybe that is why I did not get an email with the necessary information regarding course materials.
  5. Where did you all find the book information? I went to the bookstore and I did not see an isbn. The one that I have is 0072951702 and it has ch 1-17, I think. Also, are the cd's required? I have found...
  6. passed CPNE at SRMC this weekend!

Congrats You are far braver than I! I could not muster up the nerve to pursue the intimidating CPNE. Good for you. Now on to the NCLEX and Good Luck
  7. Thanks Lt, I'll probably be registering this week for a Micro somewhere. CCConline is still an option for me. I'll let you know. Good
  8. Yes, it seems a bit extreme. Especially in light of these students seeking permission in the first place. I wonder what the nitty gritty is of this whole
  9. Kansas no longer accepting EC

Has this been coming for some time or did the KSBON spring this up all of a sudden? I wonder what they would think of Deaconess program. I guess there is faculty direction with DCN so that would...
  10. Yes, please keep us posted. I absolutely love online/distance learning for those very reasons. I am just in sticker shock :chuckle OH well, I'll get over it. My darn tuition at nursing school is sky...
  11. Hi Lt, Yes, I thought the labs were all online too. I am trying to get through to the school to get some information but I am not having much luck. Nobody that I have talked to, including the biology...
  12. I am also interested in ccconline's Micro. I just can't believe how much it costs. Approximately: $560 for tuition $140 for the text $79 for the microscope (Additional charges for accessories) $140...
  13. I don't know why I was under the impression that the labs were virtual for ccconline. I looked on the site for the lab kit and microscope info and wow...that's a lotta
  14. Are the microscopes and lab kits
  15. Just want to give thanks...(kinda long)

{{{Cheri}}}} Isn't it amazing how things can just work themselves out sometimes. I am so glad that things are okay. Happy belated
  16. does IL recognize deaconess grads?

That's very good advice Cheri. I made many phone calls as well. I guess people are busy and you have to be persistent in at least getting them to aknowledge you. Being persistent should pay
  17. I believe that you need a 76% average to pass a course. There are regular homework assignments. There is also a drug calc quiz in every clinical course. I don't know anything about extra credits....
  18. Do you have any specific questions? I have not completed the program but I am pretty happy with it. I'm only aware of one other person on this board that completed the entire program and is now an RN....
  19. Anyone starting Deaconess in January 2005?

Welcome aboard gonnanurse! Get ready for a wild ride. LOL I would be happy to answer any questions. ps I also suggested that a print copy of the course content be provided. It is way too time...
  20. I agree. I think that other colleges will follow suit with online programs. There is a local college nearby that already offers a "hybrid" option. Same concept except clinicals are completed with an...
  21. I agree with what Cheri is stating. DCN really wants to attract students who are interested in pursuing the asn not just the pn. I don't know how they could stop you from withdrawing and applying...
  22. Online Science Courses

They seem to offer a nice selection of courses. Thanks foto
  23. How hard is the NCLEX-RN

I agree even though I have not taken the nclex yet. However, this is the review course that the school requires us to take. I figure, what better authority on the nclex than the ncsbn. :) I took the...
  24. RN to BSN

OMG, yes, I think I would be overwhelmed too. It's more than likely that you will settle in once you find your groove. Best of wishes to you, I am sure you will do fine. Don't forget we are here to...
  25. The only self-paced nursing program that I am aware of on the ASN level is Excelsior College. Although, I seem to remember something about a program in Indiana? Maybe somebody can clarify this. Good...
