I & O
How do you get 1238 for input for #20? I get 1475mL. Is that wrong?

I'm stuck
I agree Henny, those responses were not helpful at all and a bit uncalled for, in my opinion. We should all help each other out when we can, not be treated with such disrespect as you just were. As Sharrie said, please don't give up on us yet...there are some great people on here who are willing to be helpful and have some great wisdom to share. Thanks for posting Sharrie.

Recommendations for another class??
I am in the same boat! Have you taken the required IVY class? Are you planning on furthering your education and work towards your BSN? Are you in the ASN program at Ivy Tech? If you are interested in a BSN down the road, there are classes you can take at Ivy Tech that will transfer to IUPUI. I added an econ 101 class to take me to full-time. There are other options as well, which I can email to you if you are interested. That way you will have a list of classes to take if you need a few extra hours and then you won't have to worry about taking them later!

Ivy Tech uniforms
We don't order from the school, it is straight through Uniform House. If you call them, I am sure they can help you. I have had really good customer service there. I always ordered my uniforms in person, not online. That is ridiculous that they make you buy from the bookstore, although there aren't enough sizes for everyone.

I don't trust the nurse who read my tb test...
I understand your worry! I had a TB test and the same thing happened, but the redness and swelling did go away. It didn't happen on the first step, but the second. My TB test was also negative. Somehow I think if it was positive, you would really know it. So, I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are concerned, I would call your doc.

Financial Aid...waiting..waiting.........
No, I haven't heard anything...I haven't even received a statement showing that I am registered for classes or anything!! I usually would have received something by now. I wonder if their new "system" is throwing everything for a loop!

Ivy Tech Books 1st semester nursing
I know for the Indy campus we were able to buy all of our books in a bundle for first semester. For the second semester we are only required to purchase books for OB/Peds. I am not sure if the other campuses offer the nursing bundle or not, but the bookstore would know!

Ivy Tech: Dosage Calc. & Medical Terminology
Hi! I have taken dosage calculation through Ivy Tech and it was, in my opinion, a waste of time unless you are looking for a "filler" class for financial aid or something. I just finished my first semester of nursing clinicals and they integrated dosage calculation into the program. I got a 100% on the dosage test they gave on the sixth week, just by using what they taught us and it wasn't that difficult. I didn't take med term, however, I think it might be helpful, especially if you haven't been exposed to the medical field.

Immunizations....
Heheheh, I can relate more than you know. The pre-cleaning HAD to last through the first semester anyway! The dust bunnies liked hanging out in my house, but are gone now!

ivy tech/ lawrence HELP :)
I went to the Ivy Tech Health Job Fair a few weeks ago and there were facilities there that were hiring for the summer.

Immunizations....
There is a need to track them down if you don't have any way to pay for a titer! EXPENSIVE! It is an educational requirement in elementary school to have the shots, so why get titers when you know you had them? My HS never required a Hep B, but I already had the series, thank goodness. I believe the only booster necessary of the ones mentioned is the tetorifice, which is good for 10 years. The Ivy Tech I go to didn't require the tetorifice. As long as you had the two MMR injections as a child, then you are good. I don't necessarily think doctors know what each college requires for nursing school because they don't all require the same things. A physical form with the necessary information needed will be given at nursing orientation, after being accepted to the program.

Immunizations....
I had to call my high school to get what I needed. I can't believe they had that stuff still! Worth a shot and it will save a bunch of money if you can get the info.

Immunizations....
You are welcome! If you need any other info, just PM me!

Immunizations....
Hello, you have to have dates for 1. MMR (2 dates) OR rubeolla/rubella titer 2. varicella vaccine OR titer OR documented history of being diagnosed with varicella in the past. 3. Hepatitis B vaccine. First dose must be given by the time you turn in your physical form or declination statement must be filed. 4. 2 step TB test-wait until you receive physical form because the person doing the reading and testing must sign. Hope this helps!

Anyone currently working for Clarian?
I don't work there, but live close by and have been a patient there. I am a nursing student and that is where I want to work when I get finished. It is a fairly new hospital and people there seem so nice and glad to be there. I am sure you are making a great move. Good luck!!
