  1. Smart move! To those who did well taking both, congratulations. I had a very traumatic experience when attempting these two classes; my micro teacher was, well, like my mother always said, 'if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything.' Having a great instructor helps, too. Sorry to say I had neither. Am in the process of trying to find a micro class for summer II.
  2. NCTC Does count it against you if you Do not have Chemistry, Algebra, and all the other required pre-req's. At least, this is what they told me when I tried to apply.
  3. 6 minutes.
  4. An option for the LVN would be nice, too.
  5. Congratulations!!!!
  6. Hello, Dawn, I am a LVN of over 30 years and am still trying to find a school that will accept me and I am 55 years young:) So glad you are going for it!
  7. HOORAY!!!! Prettieladie, you were sooo supportive of me during my 'season of hell' with Micro this past semester; I'm so happy for you. Unfortunately, I received the 'we regret to inform you' letter also and so I am just about to give up. There really is no help for me but I'm so glad things worked out for you.
  8. WONDERFUL:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. So exciting! Enjoy!!!!!!
  10. I feel so bad for you. But, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and, start over:) You'll look back on this and smile; I promise! This, from someone who's been through it, too, but life does go on:)
  11. I am not replying negatively and I am an A, B, and C student, so I guess you wouldn't want to work with me?:) I have been an LVN for 30 years, and have taught Many RNs how to operate the IV pumps, record the meds in an emergency, etc, so, are you still convinced that I'm Not an over-achiever?
  12. I am so sad that some nurses think less of those who cannot make all A's; have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe, the instructors were not good at what they do? Or, maybe, just maybe, some nursing students do work hard, and, study hard, but still have trouble getting A's? I believe that if your heart is in the right place, you will be a good nurse, a competent nurse and God will give you the wisdom you need, at the moment you need. Just my 2cents:) so please don't be critical or condesending; have a heart for those of us who Do want to be as good as all you straight A students but just aren't! And, it's only your opinion to say that people start to say things like "it's too hard, I can't, etc. I never have.
  13. I've got to chime in here. My situation has Nothing to do with fraud/dishonesty, whatever else you might want to label it. I took classes thru an online university back in the '90s and now, come to find out, 10+ years later, they were a FRAUD!! They were a 'diploma mill' and there is No way I can get an 'official' transcript because They went defunct obviously. So because I can't get the 'official' copy I can't get into any program! Now, tell me what I did that was dishonest? Stupid? Yes, dishonest, no!!
  14. Could it be that you had instructors who were "not teacher material" I did and it has cost me this semester in both APII and micro. I finally dropped micro to try and concentrate on APII and studied for bkfst, lunch, dinner, sleep, etc. and I still ended up making a C so you see, just because you failed this course twice Does not, in my opinion, mean that it's an omen or that you're not supposed to be doing this. Just relax; 21 is such a young age, you'll find the right path. And, if you really want to be a nurse, you will; if not, you'll find something that you really want to do.
  15. Thanks for reminding me why I got out of school nursing, or at least part of the reason:) But what really broke the final straw was, get this, a student who had a mother that was a PA. She wanted me to give the kid the inhaler just before school let out so that she "didn't have to bother" with it when she came home! Now, mind you, the student had no respiratory distress, was breathing w/o c/o and her mother called, insisting that I pull the child off the school bus and give her the inhalation treatment!! Thank God, the bus driver was very patient, but still had his schedule to keep. I knew that was it for me.
  16. I so agree; re-taking a B is a waste of time:) AFA 'there's always a way to get an official transcript', if only that were true! but in this case, it is Not because the school turned out to be a total fraud and they are nowhere to be found so, you see, sometimes there is No way. I am going to just have to re-take all these courses again and hope that somewhere, someone will look at me and not that stupid transcript mistake. Oh, hindsight is really 20/20.
  17. Does anyone know if Platt has the 5 year rule where, if your sciences are 5 years and older, you have to repeat them? I am considering signing up with them if I can find this info out and determine which campus would be closer for me. Thanks everyone.
  18. How did you do it? I couldn't even get a decent grade in One of them and I studied ALL The Time !!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I just got my grades for APII. Got a C; am about to cry a river!!!!! I worked my heart out studying, studying, studying, all for nothing!! Had the worst professor(except for my micro instructor, dropped it) who had his 'favorites' and they all bragged about not studying!!! I'm going to re-take it in the fall so that it won't hurt my chances of getting into the Radiology prgm since I can't get into a RN prgrm because I can't get an 'official' copy of one of my transcripts. Talk about giving up!!! Somehow, I just have to keep trying. Best to you.
  20. Are there any rad-tech students who wish to sell their books? I'd love to talk to you:)
  21. Move on; don't let this become bigger than it has to be. You are a nurse, and I'm sure a very good one so don't let one bad apple spoil what is about a great journey:) and, besides, living well is the best revenge!!
  22. Is it possible that it's the teacher and not you? I know, in my case, my micro instructor was so busy 'teaching' us on the PhD level that it just was too much, too deep and way over my head. Thank God, I finally got up the courage to drop and keep my 4.0 GPA intact.
  23. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!
