    Take a deep breath and pretend it is the fake arm! I find if I detach myself a little it helps, don't think about causing pain. It has to be done for the patients good, and it doesn't really hurt that...

    No, the med will not drip out if the system is open. The pump pushes the med into the vein when the system is closed, but if the tubing is unhooked the med will run out freely from the pump to the end...
