You did the right thing. Don't second-guess yourself. It's HIS fault, not yours. Hopefully this was a wake-up call for him and he will refrain from doing this in the future, as it's illegal and grossly inappropriate.

You could start by asking your school or classmates. I was able to get mine before school started through a local hospital that offered renewal classes. You could also call your local Red Cross chapter or find them online.
