I wish somtimes that I could go to the ICU for a little while and learn some of the skills that the ICU nuse are expert at. Some drugs we don't see very often in the ED, you see everyday in the ICU. Vents, and diffrent procedues we don't do very ofte...

I love when the floor says "Oh, we are to busy to take that pt right now, hold on for an hour or so." I wish I could say that to the ambulance that just brought that MI in!!!!!:chuckle

I just recently had a women OD on wellbutrin extended release. She took like 8 times the normal dosage. We had to monitor for QTC widing. If it got to large she could go into v-tach. I'm not sure if it causes any irrversable damage though.

I totally agree....I never hesitate to call pharmacy, or ask someone else. These reactions and incompatablities could be really serious. It's up to us make sure it dosn't happen.

HAHHAHAHA! I love it! I feel that where I work in an ER we are very close with our Doctors. We are all on a first name basis with all of them. I think we spend so much time with eachother it would be weird to call them anything else.

Try a spray on wrinkle releaser...just spray and tug..NO IRON!! Or just try hanging them up after washing, no drying.

Well, hon....that made me laugh!!!! Going to the Ed the one thing that freaked me out was kids!! I was a tele Nurse so EKG is my thing....we all have our strengths...go with yours. They could use you in the Ed.

That brings us to unity Trama....don't you think??? Another thing we as Nurses need is togetherness. Get together with all your fellow co-workers and talk. Maybe together you can find a solution. And there is that saftey in numbers thing...lol;)

What I mean is that I don't want to end up being that nurse that is so overwhelmed with pts, she/he can not take care of them how they should be taken care of. I guess I also feel a little guilty that I am being helped and others are not.....I guess ...
