  5. Critiques?

Thanks very much for the input - the peer tutor position was I suppose similar to work study .. The professor who headed the program recommended me to take part; I could only do it in my second to...

  12. My sub acute floor ratio is a max of 20 (we split the 40 bed floor so up to 20 each nurse if we're at max capacity). We are responsible for meds and treatments.. So initially 25-30 seems high but if...

  14. Which days should I pick?

Just don't do every other day! M/w/f just is awful because I feel like my days off are just recovering and then going back. I'd maybe do t/w/th like someone else suggested, or split them 2 in a row...

Graduated mid may, took nclex first available date - one month later, interviewed beginning of September for my job and started 3 or 4 weeks
  16. Going From Med-Surg in Hospital to SNF - Advice?

  20. I'm not sure how everyone thinks Obama should have miraculously fixed things in 4 years when it took a lot longer than that to get us here, and how on Earth Romney would be able do so (period). Rome...
  21. Compression Hose...Please HELP!!!

Dr scholls for her makes a fairly inexpensive pair, i think $8 or so.. They're light compression but would be a decent start, and they're very comfortable! I have a more heavy duty pair that sometimes...
  22. Contract, negotiable at all?

Probably not, more so because you're a new grad. You have no experience with which to bargain on. Most places have a standard pay scale for new nurses with very little wiggle room. I'd just be...
  23. What should I do?

Don't limit yourself to posted openings - I eventually just sent my résumé and cover letter to facilities - I got 2 call backs in a week on this practice - neither had posted openings and neither...
