    Once a pt's pain is out of control it is much harder to get it back under control, that is the reason for giving the medication ATC even if they "look" comfortable. If they are in pain that is not our choice whether or not we think they look in pain...

    Get the Anatomy and Physiology coloring books!! Seriously they carry them at Barnes and Noble one book for each, and they helped me so much, and it was a fun way to help learn the material.

    not to sound snarky blue...but just how does a lpn "talk like an rn"...if being knowledable and answering pt questions intelligently means talking like an rn than i guess i do that often...sorry if i misunderstood the comment.

    In the long term care facility where I used to work they also gave the pts remeron to try and help boost appetite. I did not feel that it worked it just seemed to sedate them and they were too sleepy to eat.
