Most of the time in the OR where I work the techs. or LPNs scrub, there are a few RN's that scrub also, and there are times we (RN) has to scrub.

I use to be a preceptor and it is hard to stay out of the room. Maybe you could just tell her in a non defensive way that you are alright now and you can handle it but stick close in case you need her again.....most OR nurses will. She probably thin...

I really hve a problem with ACLS, especially when the use it or lose thing comes into play....that does not qualify you (the nurse) to run a code, who is to say what you remember and if you have the right protocol for the arrhythmia?

Our staffing in the OR is bare bones, so most of our nurses can scrub and/or circulate, plus work OPS, Scope Room, and PACU. Wonder if it has anything to do with staffing, probably not...it's probably the cost your hospital is looking at more than ...
