i'm with you all the way. you go to school for a better life & end up leaving with a crapload of debt. i'm really curious to see how others are handling it & how they do
Thanks, BSN! I am not so worried about the federal loan it's the darn private loans I've been reading horror stories on the net. Thanks, for the realistic view about the PRN jobs, it's not easy...
actually it wasn't the wrong choice for me to leave. it was the perfect choice. it wasn't worth the risk--nor did i want to be part of school where accreditation was not guaranteed. ns has alot of bs...

I went to their open house a year and a half ago. It's a brand new nursing program & they only take a handful of students & they said they decide whether you are ready to take the NCLEX after...
I personally didnt go there but know of someone who recently graduated. He basically told me their program is not really accelerated it can take up to two yrs or more to graduate. It's a tough school...
Keep us posted. One of the main reasons I chose Cochran was because they offered an accelerated program which luckily I got into so I will be done with my RN degree within a yr and a half. (Keeping my...
I'm gonna have to agree with Hopeful2009. Blacks, latino's, asians, gays/lesbians, overweight folks, skinny folks...everyone has issues. We can't make "special considerations" for every group. What...
Please continue to keep us informed. I am graduateing in Januray & LIJ's fellowship program is at the top of my list. Hoping things continue to go well with
I choose Cochran because it had a better program due to its reputation in Westchester. Cochran is good but it's tough. Especailly Med-Surg. I really beieve that I will pass the NCLEX once I'm done....
Hi Tameika, I took the NET exam and I scored in 90th percentile. I didn't find the test questions to be difficult, it was the lack of time that was a problem. You have to rush through it. I chose to...
As a current ADN student with a bachelor's in a completely other field. I'd go with the BSN, since it's not such a huge difference in price. And you most likely will not go back to school...
As a student with no medical experience. Even though I find the endless careplans to bed a pain in the..... It nonetheless is a wonderful tool for student because it reinforces the basic interventions...
It's the toughest thing I have ever had to do. The first semester was a joke compared to this semester--Med Surg. Schedule is jam packed, always studying. There's tons of info to learn in a very short...
Honestly you do not want a C in AP 1. A C + is transferrable for Molooy & Adelphi but they won't take a C. Aim at the very least for a C + with AP 1 then you will have to get an A or B in AP 2....
AP1 is a TOUGH course. I found it to be the toughest, especially when it came to memorizing the names of all the bones. Add to the fact that I had the worse professor at NCC. When the semester was...
My gpa was a 2.3 for my BA & I am in nursing school as I type. Your best bet is too finish all your prereqs & get good grades on them which is what I did then apply to a school. I applied to a...
You may want to check out this ongoing VEEB nursing thread in the LPN section. I browsed through it when I was considering possibly applying to Veebs....
I wouldn't worry too much. NS actually encourages their students to not work. I think employers are more intresred in you sucessfully passing teh NCLEX than whether or not you worked in NS. Good LUck...
I don't think you should go into the nursing field if you have all these reservations. Just getting through nursing school is tough, you have to be completely dedicated to it 100% in order to do it....
