  1. Being called an idiot

You should pass that doc's name around. If he was mean to you imagine how he would act with a patient...esp under anesthesia
  2. does anyone really like nursing?

I work for several agencies....just take your pick after you have called them and asked their rates, etc. The downside is the cancellations but if you have several agencies and you are flexible with your schedule (I'm not) you can do very well. The...
  3. Are you my waitress today?

Until a few years ago when there was a nursing crisis at cape cod, nurses would leave this profession and become waitresses for the summer...then go back to nursing after the summer. Does that sum it up?
  4. RN's and the dreaded clinical experience...

In my third semester in school my nursing instructor, who was very competent and even wrote some of the nclex questions (and eventually got her doctorate in education..where she is a professor in a major university) said to the class..."I didn't know...

  8. I chose nursing over rad tech....a hugh mistake. in Massachusetts there is a big demand for rad techs. It's a nice, clean job with plenty of $ and lots of OT available. The rad techs I know love it and have a lot of flexibility.
  9. No duh. I've always treated nursing as a business and never got caught up with "I'm here for the patients crap" It's a job and when you work for these corps.....they don't give a s ! I go in (for the day ..I only work agency) do my work and lea...
  10. Anyone finish shift and not return to job?

If you feel that this situation is unsafe and you want to bolt out the door I would go to the supervisor, explain the situation that it is NOT safe and she needs to maker it safer for you to continue working...if not then leave. If anything was to ...
  11. Are any of you guys as burned out as I am?

I can absolutely sympathize with you...nursing is a lousy profession. I've been a nurse for 11 years if if I was 20 years younger I would be gonzo. Have you ever thought about going back to school and getting into the trades.....like any trade pays...
  12. does anyone really like nursing?

Tantarosa: I started to write you but my finger slipped and I'm not sure if you got my previous message. Anyway I can appreciate your point and hope that I would get someone like you if I got sick. I must be honest and say nursing is a business and ...
  13. does anyone really like nursing?

:twocents:Does anyone really like nursing...be honest! I work for several agencies and go to many, many places. To find satisfied staff is near impossible. The facilities are always short (esp. cnas) and never call an agency to fillin...they just d...
