    For me the obvious answer is that IV stands for intravenous. Also whenever I think of artery or vein- artery=away from the heart (to gain arterial pressure (ABP) or arterial blood gas-for example)...

    When I worked bedside nursing (over 13 years of bedside before 'desk' job) I called in less than a half dozen times-once because of pink eye-the rest I couldn't breathe due to congestion.
