  1. I think you can have a better answer about this if you get connected with nurses entrepreneurs or those who have their own practice, most of them are Aesthetics Nurses..you can check linkedin, saw a lot of them and some actually post about their journey, how they made it.
  2. I have colleagues who started as a new grad in dialysis clinics. They say that it's a good experience and fast paced. The facility provided her with complelte and thorough traning and so the transition as a new grad to dialysis is not that overwhelming.
  3. Love seeing pages about school here in Allnurses. It's a great resource and help to those who has a lot of question about their program and school.
  4. When they are stirring those minors to use of drugs..that is very concerning and I agree with some comments here..you need to report that.
  5. I hope I can help you but the 1 thing I know for sure is that they would require you to have at least 2 or more years of practice in ICU. Maybe you can check linkedin, make connections there with CRNAs.
  6. I bet that experienced travel nurses can help you and give advice. But from my stand point, if your only option is to move together with your family because you don't want to settle yet then just go and apply for the position in the area that you want.
  7. Glad that I opened this post, got some positive vibes here. Best of luck to all of you.
  8. Agree with Nurse Beth, they should provide you an explanation why just like how any normal employer notify their employees who has poor performance or have other issues that affected the quality of their work. Anyways, hope they could reach out to you and provide you a detailed info of what happened so you can defend yourself or explain your side.
  9. I'm not an ICU nurse but I have a close friend that works in Cardiac ICU and yes, they do have patients who are completely vaccinated die due to complications from COVID but their numbers are way smaller compared to those who are not vaccinated.
  10. Just set an expectation that your status would be "non-rehirable" anyways if you don't like working for them because of their crappy benefits, I think you wouldn't mind that status. So go to a job that serves you best.
  11. First time I heard of OB Nurse Navigators. What does your contract says or the duties and responsibilities?
  12. How did you do in the interview?
  13. I've been to several jobs and what I usually do, if they don't ask me to come to an event or outing or their so called "team building" I don't care, would I want to spent hours with them denying and ignoring me? ofcourse not. I'd rather spent the day at home hungry or cold rather than to be with them plus I have friends. What I'm trying to say is that focus on what you need to do, your job especially that they have their eyes on you.
  14. This is unfair but their rebuttal with you is that they gave you a heads-up about your duties and responsibilities. This happened to be before when I was working as a company nurse. Aside from nursing duties, I also help in the HR when they are swamped in hiring (which happens all the time), all that is involved in the hiring process. But when I reached out to my supervisor which is the HR supervisor, she mentioned that on my contract there is a phrase "Whenever needed" something like that, so I resigned.
  15. That is rough. It's not just lifting that you can do on clinicals, why they would not allow you to attend? You can observe and do other things.
  16. We must also learn how to set boundaries to avoid burnouts and exhaustion. It could be hard at times especially if we need to say "NO" but practice makes perfect, we can't use up all our energy for all the "YES" that could have been a "NO".
  17. It could have been avoided if the teacher advised you that she called the mom, but anyway does the school have any protocol that teachers should not explain anything to the parents? I think that is when everything went downhill.
  18. Agree with k1p1ssk, it really starts at home. If you are implementing bathroom sched and at home they will just let her wear pull-ups then you guys are just going in circle.
  19. No words are needed at all. Just show up and show them how efficient you are in your work.
  20. More stress, less sleep could really age us. First the skin and then the weight!
  21. What I see in this post is a nurse who cares a lot. You even bother to educate and take note of the errors and what you need to improve on yourself. Anyways, is there something bothering you at work why can't focus? ALso, don't compare yourself to your friends..that is a rabbit hole..
  22. Agree with Nursetom1963, it's going to be a tedious process like how you manually monitor your patient's vitals.
  23. I don't think this is the answer to issues. I'm sure that they know what their unit or the team their managing needs, they just all are having a hard time executing it. Remember that aside from them, there a higher people who has the final say to all that they will propose. Just saying..
  24. Saw the title in this post and told myself "I need to see this.". I'm so sorry this happened to you. Always remember that they will feed on your reaction and make you look crazy (but it really was them). Just act like you never received that text. Don't waste your energy on them.
  25. So sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain. ?
