I recently started at a new job (union position) and it is temporary full time (18month contract) position. (For context, I live in Ontario, Canada). I am being cross-trained in two different units and I halfway through training in the second unit. I am about two months into the position and I want to change from full time to part time. However, I don't know how to go about it. Should I speak with the manager now or later? Are they likely to change my status or just ask me to quit? Any suggestions or advice? Past experiences?
