I just read the books and rolled. But that’s me.
the labs were quick. I did the dissection of the pig all in one day. Took a few more days to fill out my documents and edit my photos for clarity (take lots of photos.) did the eye and heart ...

I honestly don’t remember but I’m pretty sure it was 80% tests 80% overall like all nursing classes. I didn’t find that class to be too terrible.
Pay a LOT of attention in pathophysiology. Watch lectures twice if you can get ahold of recordings....

Yeah. But some Professors take artistic liberties with that 80%. Excluding the lowest score, or including quizzes. There is some buffer on some of the classes. Then again, some of them it’s two exams and you better hope to God you get 80%. I think it...

The final is proctored. I don’t know about the rest, I actually read the books. And if you try to skip through it and take the easy way out, an accelerated nursing program will chew you up and spit you out.

Don’t count on anything they told you holding. They lie and break promises left and right. Most recently they made the decision to assign block scheduling and remove any control over our schedules. For those of use with kids this has proven a real ex...

A&P and Microbio will make Pathophysiology much easier which is the single most important class IMO. I was incredibly well prepared. But I read all books cover to cover.

Indeed. She turns 1 year old soon. And another due in November!
18 credits in 14 weeks was brutal. Thankfully next semester is 3 of 5 and it completes the bachelor portion of the program. That will be a relief. Then it’s just the masters level c...

I will have to keep that in mind. So far it is going well, but it’s really brutal the pace. At least with a large family. And the Covid stuff threw the whole program into disarray.

And think long and hard before signing up for an accelerated program. I’m too far in now to stop, but 18 credits a semester is enough to give you a nervous breakdown.

How fast can you read 500-1000 pages of dry material?
straighterline is go at your own pace. I have a “prerequisites progress thread” where I recounted my journey through straighterline classes. Now mind you, I’m a bit zippier than most, but to ...

I can only speak for semesters 1 & 2.
Semester 1 was very manageable, but the material is very conceptual and foundational (pharmacology and pathophysiology are the big hitters.) Lots of lectures, lots of studying, and many hard assignments....

Some in my cohort worked the first semester (hybrid). Many dropped to part time for this semester. Fall they intend to return to in person classes (I hope they keep hybrid as an option!) and working would be impossible.
Guest1142305 replied to Guest1142305's topic in School Programs
We were told the plan is to return to in person classes for Fall semester. I prefer self taught so I’m dreading it. To me sitting in a lecture is a waste of my time, effort, and energy.
Guest1142305 replied to Guest1142305's topic in School Programs
It’s pass fail. Sort of. Hard to explain. There are points, but only for certain classes like patho and pharm. other classes it’s about demonstrating mastery of material. At the end of each semester you can ask for an equivalency report for future tr...

Pathophysiology will be your hardest class. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) will be the lecturer. She is amazing. Offers 2 lectures a week at 4 hours each. She records. It’s amazing.
Pharmacology is your next hardest. Good powerpoints with weekly ...
