Hi everyone. I have never posted here before but today I have some good (make that GREAT) news!!! I got accepted to Nassau Community College's evening nursing program! They only accept about 35 people so I was VERY nervous! Well, I just wanted to ...

Yes, it does look at the last question - if you go all the way to 265. But not at whether you answered it correctly or not. I never said that. I said if it was above competency, you pass and if it was below competency, you fail. I did say "regardless...

I did not say getting the question right or wrong determines if you pass or fail. I said the level difficulty of the question at 265 determines whether you pass or fail - regardless of if you got it right or wrong. I know the last question doesn't d...

That is not true. The computer shuts off when it feels you are averaging above the level of competency or below it. If you are borderline, it will keep going until you do average above it. I'm not sure how many questions you have to average above ...
Wow!!!! How he's grown!!! Thank you for the update!!!! He's precious and so is your daughter! I'm curious too... did you ever do the nursing school thing? Either way, thanks for sharing your story and may God continue to bless you!!!!!

Nurse2bTracy - Why don't you just apply to the different LI hospitals and they'll train you as a CNA for free? Winthrop has a good orientation and if you work in the ER you will not only be trained as a CNA (they call them PCA) but you will also be d...

The Feuer nursing review course was kind of like a "refresher course". It is really a review course but they focus on the content. Then you can go home after the week of classes and review what you learned and do tons of their practice questions. I...
I took my test today. It shut off at 75 q's. I had 21 SATA! (Yes, I was tallying them up!) lol. I had 2 calculations, and the rest was mostly teaching, prioritizing, cohorting patients, infection control and maybe 5 or 6 meds. I'll find out Frid...
I took my exam today (well, yesterday by now because it's after midnight :)). I feel ok about it. I don't want to get my hopes up but I feel as if I passed based on the types of questions I got. My computer shut off at 75. I had 21 SATA!!!! I th...
What a beautiful prayer! I am testing tomorrow. I went to the prayer meeting at my Church today and asked the Lord to be with me as I test tomorrow. It was a beautiful, relaxing way to spend the evening before my test. :)

They should have a designated stethoscope only for them or if you do use a stethoscope on a MRSA patient, clean it thoroughly before using it on other patients.

Someone clarify this if I'm wrong but from what I remember, you want the build up with a total pneumonectomy because it will take up the space where the lung was. I think with a partial, they'd have a chest tube. This is from memory from nursing sch...
Congrats to everyone that passed!!!! I'm testing on the 16th! I can't wait to get it over with. I've been doing Kaplan, I did Feuer (loved it!) and I did a little Saunders (mainly the CD and used the book to look up stuff I didn't know or needed r...
Let us know what happens... Do you live in one of those states you can check the results in 2 days? I heard sometimes the results are up the same day or the next day... Here in NY you can usually find out within a few hours of taking the test. I'll...
It sounds like you passed to me too!!!!! LOL. Wow! It must feel good being done with it! Thank you sooooooooooooo much for sharing some feedback and tips! I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this info!!!!! You know they say if you feel like you didn't pass, it's a good sign. LOL. Otherwise the questions would have been the easy level. It sounds like if you had a lot of prioritizing, maybe you were at the higher l...

I worked in the ER as a PCA for a while during nursing school and at that facility we only did routine BPs on children over the age of 5... Of course if a problem was suspected and we needed to do a BP they did it. But as a routine VS, it was over ...
I was in the evening program and our clinical days changed from Semester to Semester - they were either Monday & Tuesday or Wednesday & Thursday... so I guess it is based on what the hospital has available and the faculty schedule. During the...
