  1. Afternoon all, I am quickly coming up on the graduation of my LVN program and I am looking forward to soon entering the work force! I have heard that there are certain workplaces (SNFs, hospitals, etc) that will actually send you through to an RN program after staying with them for a certain amount of years. Is anyone aware of any places of employment currently doing something like this? I am based in the San Francisco Bay Area and ideally would look to stay close to home, but I am definitely willing to move around the state. Also I realize this is probably a fairy tale situation and I’m sure fairly uncommon, just figured I’d pose the question out here on the forum and see if anyone knows of any! I’m definitely willing to work hard and dedicate myself to an organization if it means furthering my career. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the feedback ICUman. Those were some of my biggest concerns as I don’t want to restrict myself from being able to continue to advance in my career. Back to the drawing board.

    Eagle Gate College

Hello everyone, I was hoping to delve a little deeper into a discussion regarding Eagle Gate College. I know there are a few similar posts already but I wanted to talk a little more specifically about this college. Here is the background info. I am California-based, on the verge of completing a local LVN/LPN program, and I am doing my homework to find the best program for me to continue on to RN afterwards. I attend a for-profit tech/vocational school with an accelerated LVN program. We were told about our school’s expansion school, which happens to be Eagle Gate College in Utah, as a cheaper alternative for an accelerated BSN program. I have already spoken to the school regarding pricing and everything and it seems like a good deal. However, upon looking at the reviews of the school, a few of them said that they were unable to do anything with the degrees/certificates they obtained at Eagle Gate due to accreditation. On the flip side, a few more recent reviews read as positive experiences from the school. So finally to my questions, I am by no means an expert on the whole accreditation system, I know there are different levels but I am unsure how that whole thing works. 1) For those of you who are more savvy with the education/accreditation system, will a BSN from Eagle Gate College be recognized by employers/other schools? As a bonus question, 2) Will a BSN from Eagle Gate be transferable to other states? Like if I decide to move back to California after? If you’ve made it to the end thank you for reading it all! And thanks in advance for any replies! I am seriously considering making the move from California and getting into this program, so I just want to make sure I’m not shooting myself in the foot.
