About JenH3

JenH3 has 11 years experience as a ASN, BSN, MSN, EMT-B, EMT-I, APRN and specializes in Corrections, Ortho, Uro, FNP.

Hi,

I am proud to have come up the ranks first as a medic in the military and then every step from EMT to FNP.  I am very proud to say that I have worked very hard for AAS, ASN, BSN, MSN in nursing leadership and management, and MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am also a single mom of 3; so if I can do it, anyone can!

Good luck to you all!

I work in a prison and most times when the offender is waiting on medications, it is taken from stock meds. However, as long as the medication card in question was never personally possessed by an inmate, it can be placed into the stock as long as t...

  3. Pulling Meds For Another Nurse To Pass

JKL33, You are really something else... You completely took what I said out of context. What I was saying is that since the indoctrination of the electronic medical record (which is a requirement for CMS reimbursement), it is much harder to ma...
  4. Pulling Meds For Another Nurse To Pass

I honestly don't see the problem here. I agree you shouldn't pull controlleds and leave them. However, the nurse administering the meds you pulled will be signed in under their own name so if there is an issue, it falls squarely on their shoulders. ...

Go at your own pace. Don't worry about what others are saying (many people lie about their progress) or doing, just do what's right for you and your family. It can be challenging, but it's definitely worth it! Good luck!!! ?
  7. WGU-MSN Transfer Credits for FNP

Students only take one course at a time, but some courses can be completed in a day; it's totally dependant on your strengths and weaknesses. I completed the MSN in 14 months, but some have done it much faster. I chose to have more family time than...
  8. WGU-MSN Transfer Credits for FNP

Yes, I am a single mother, I will absolutely need financial aid. I only have two choices, be content with MSN (not really an option because where I work, there are only pay raises for MSN-FNP or FNP-C) or continue for PGC; DNP is not an option. I'v...

  12. WGU-MSN Transfer Credits for FNP

What would you like to know? I have nothing but positive things to say about the WGU BSN and MSN programs. Without their flexibility, I would not have been able to complete another degree as a single mom working a full time night shift job.
  13. I'm currently finishing up MSN (Leadership and Management) at WGU and starting to look for FNP certificate programs. Has anyone recently graduated from WGU and gone on to another university where they accepted most of your credits? If so, what was ac...

  15. MSN FNP or Post-MSN cert?

I appreciate the comments. I fully understand how things may or may not transfer; I'm not new to this rodeo. You are missing the point of this thread. My intentions were to ask the advice of those who had taken each route, MSNFNP or PMFNP, not why...
