    ETSU

I was recently accepted into the LPN to BSN program at ETSU in Tennessee for the Vanderbilt site. Has anyone else accepted a spot for the same one ? I have questions about the program as I'm relocating from another state. Any insight would be great !!

Do you like working there? Do you think it will work with a nursing school schedule? Today, I noticed they put the applications back up on the website?? I wonder if they didn't get enough applicants or what the deal is?? It says applications accepted until July 1st! I hope that we don't have to wait until then to find out...

I bet it will be fairly quick if it's like last fall where she had only 48 to go through. Where do you work as a LPN? I've been trying to find something but there are hardly any jobs here for LPNs.

I bet if you emailed her ( like I have repeatedly) she would tell you how many. She is super sweet and usually responds by evening time..

She didn't say how many applied. She did say last fall there were 48 applicants and 12 got in. So I guess it's just a waiting game. If there are people that live there and graduated there and have a lot of LPN experience then I dont think I have a chance. But you never know ! Did you see on the email where she said we would know by may 24? That's next week so hopefully soon! It would be hard for me to make that drive being a single mom but I would do it to finish my last year ! Although my GPA is good I did horrible in one of my nursing courses and had to retake. I think that will hurt me in getting in. I had personal things that happened during that time but I can only try!

I think a lot of people from out of town are applying since there are no other programs around anymore for LPN-RN. I believe she said there will be 15 spots open. We should find out next week. What city do you live in? The school would be over an hour drive for me...

I am waiting now to see if I got in or not. They are suppose to let us know by next week! I will keep you posted! My GPA is good however they give more points to get in based on if you live in the area where the school is, if you graduated with your LPN at MCC and if you have paid experience as a LPN. I did not have any of the last 3 so I am pretty sure I wont get in. But I will keep ya posted! If you talk to anyone there- talk to Gwen in the Nursing Department she is great to talk to about the program!

I am in the same boat- work, kids and the drive time. What part of CO do you live in ? Are you an LPN now?

    Long commute worth it??

Hi! Thanks for the comment. I think it would be a little easier if I didn't have two small children. It may be the only program to go to in my area though so I may have to make it work. Thanks for the advice!

Yes ! Very slim. Front Range offers a program in Westminster but I hear it's hard to get into. I may have to make the drive ..at least it's only for one year instead of two.
