Hi everyone! I am 25 years old and currently practicing as a staff nurse (RN) here in the Philippines. It was always been my dream to be a dentist but never had the opportunity to pursue the career for I didn't have enough resources (eg. money) to support that dream. I was just wondering if I would proceed to dental school, would it take me another 4 years? Or should I just stay as a nurse and get my masters degree instead? I would really appreciate any of your advice. I also want you to know that nurses here in the philippines are dealing with issues of underpayments, others have to go through trainings without any salary or worse case, they are the ones paying the institution just to be trained. Another issue was the nurse patient ratio; Some institutions due to underemployment they have the ratio of 1 nurse to 20-30 patients. Not to mention the discrimination nurses have to go through from toxic watchers and patients. Which causes burnt outs and stress to nurses. Leading them to migrate to other countries or shift courses. Well it is also one of the reasons why I wanna proceed to dentistry. please help me out, I'm confused.
