I have 4 kids and will continue to work part time throughout nursing school. My older 3 are in school and already attend before and after school care and the baby is already in daycare. Thankfully I do have an active helpful partner now so he will be able to help a lot with transport and the bulk of the bills. Definitely much different than when I was doing my BA on my own with 3 kids. All of my kids have gone to Phoenix Day which is an amazing daycare near ASU Downtown. ASU actually helped with childcare assistance and works closely with that center. They often have scholarships for childcare so it is worth looking into or putting your kid on a waitlist. With the scholarship it is only $40 a week for full time care.

Does anybody else have a back up plan? I have a few different prospective jobs and would probably reapply.

    That's great news! I have a 1.87. I'm hoping that's enough.

    ASU Post Bacc-nursing school w/kids

Hello, may not be exactly what you are looking for but I have 4 kids (8,6,5 and almost 1). I just submitted my PBCNP application tonight. From what I have read it is a big commitment but I currently work at least 3 12 hour shifts a week, usually more plus have always been a student and it seems that I may actually see my kids more! No way to know until we do it but it's just a year and will set you up to make a steady, stable income for your kids while only working 3 days a week.

Great information! I was able to get petitions for my science classes approved already but unfortunately I do have to take HCR220. I have enrolled to take it this summer, starting in about a week. So after that, just have to get the TEAS done. Does anyone know how far in advance the TEAS needs to be taken for the grade to post to ASU? If I take it in August would that be ok?

RN hopeful. New to Arizona, Need advice.

ASU offers a post bacc accelerated BSN program. It's not as cheap but all you need are a few pre reqs and a previous bachelors degree in anything. Applications are due by September 1st of each year and the class starts January and through the whole year to graduation in December. 12 months to a BSN is nice. I'm applying this fall.

So where do you go to apply for the Citizens Bank loans? The website? Is Fafsa involved at all? Do you apply once for the whole year or for each individual semester? Thank you so much for the information. It is such a relief to know there is a way to make this happen!

My understanding is that the requirements such as titers, shots, clearance card, etc will all be due once you are officially accepted.
