Should we follow ACLS guidelines or is it ok to deviate from the protocol? I was always under the impression that we have to follow ACLS guidelines because doing something else would be practicing medicine. We are only covered under ACLS guidelines t...

The seasoned ICU nurse said it was disappointing to him that I was unable to think outside of the box and he told me I thought like a student. I have been a nurse for 13 plus years.
I have a burning question for my fellow nurses. Is the use of a doppler, for finding a pulse, acceptable practice during a code blue? The reason I ask is because I got into a debate with a "very seasoned" ICU nurse and we just do not agree. Every sin...

TriciaJ has a good point. I started at a new ER and it took about a year for the staff to warm up to me. I was pissed at first due to some negative interactions. But with time, everything got a lot better. Hang in there, stand up for yourself, and be...

I do hate my job sometimes but mostly I hate female nurses who make this job so unbearable by bullying and harassing others. That is what makes this profession so unbearable. With the right group of positive people, this could be the best profession....
