    What is Abandonment?

It is not patient abandonment because you never assumed care of the patient(s) so the BRN won’t get involved, no matter what your employer threatened. You can be disciplined or fired by your employer for job abandonment with a no call/no show. Two di...

    TX new grad with stipulations

Once you have your actual RN license you might want to look at dialysis nursing. DaVita Dialysis is both new grad and stipulation friendly. I was very hesitant to try dialysis but really like the consistent patient contact and the hours.

    Dmu liscence suspended

Your story is very difficult to read and understand- mainly because of spelling and punctuation issues. Maybe re-write and repost so we can help support you.

I’m being investigated by the BON!

^^^ this 100%. Get a lawyer and be prepared to have the next 4+ years of your life be under monitoring scrutiny. Your BON is not going to make this journey easy for you and they don’t care if you have learned your lesson. The BON is concerned with p...

  11. I agree with this ^^^ 100%- the nurses involved have a huge knowledge deficit and lack common sense. I am going to use this as a case study for my students

The Unwritten Rules Of Dating As A Nurse

I just keep thinking about the old saying- "Don't fish off of the company pier". In other words- do not enter into a relationship with a patient- past or present- the nurse needs to maintain strict boundaries and use common sense.

Shopping for a New Job at 6 Months

My professional advice to to stay on your current job for at least 1 year. I have hired many RNs in a variety of settings over the last 30 years and l always had suspicions when a nurse stayed less than 1 year. Also you owe it to your current employe...

    Tattoos in the workplace

Your response is spot on Wuzzie. While tattoos are becoming a part of everyday life, there is still a bias against nurses in the workplace showing their body art. Yes- the OP can have as many tattoos as she/he wants but don't be surprised because in ...

    Frustrated

I work in clinic dialysis in California and my CC is always begging for RNs to fill extra shifts. I'm not sure why we have such a problem keeping RNs- the Pay is much lower than acute care but there are plenty of opportunities for overtime.
