Lol it is funny to think that now I am the inspiration! Thank you I got in with an 83. I went with Ottawa as my university and Gateway evenings as my community college. I will work through the program and use grants. I am not using loans. I was going to do traditional until someone on here took the time to educate and encourage me to go the CEP route. The Pell Grant covers a lot and I am going to apply for scholarships. There is some cost that the Pell Grant does not cover, I had $1,000 for tuition for the university summer courses, and the book bundle, tote, scrubs, stethoscope, and watch come out to about $2,000. So for the entire program I am paying about $3,000 out of pocket after grants and if I can get on top of the scholarships I may not even have that much. I calculated Ottawa to be the least expensive per credit hour, requiring the least amount of pre-reqs and you would finish the same semester as the community college, unlike some of the other universities. Gateway requires the book bundle which is the bulk of the expenses ($1,800) but I know some other students buy used books or online pdf books which I may still consider. One last thing, Ottawa offers a consortium agreement which is very important because it allows all your grant money that the university does not use to go to the community college. (ASU for example does not offer a consortium agreement) I am excited and hope I can inspire a couple people along the way.
