16 was the points needed when my cohort started. If you got a letter that 16 was the requirement but you still didnt get in it means they had more qualify than spots. They then go by GPA. Dont give up. The program although expensive is amazing and supportive.

    Hold out for Goodwin?

Hey girl... Did you end up getting in to the program?

For lecture it has been a choice of Wed night (i think 5-8p) or Thursday morning 11-2 for NUR100 and 10-1p for NUR110. As far as clinicals there are several sites with days ranging from Monday to Saturday. If you have Fridays off, you should be fine. It is a lottery to choose your clinical site, and if you don't get your site and have to switch, they ask other students if anyone can switch. For both classes all students have been happy and worked together to help one another. As far as lecture, you will have to make yourself available for either Wed or Thurs. As you go through the program, I heard the upper classes are 6 hours for lecture and you can do two 3 hour days or sit for the 6 hours. Hopefully this helps you. But having a understandable/flexible job is going to be important. Not to mention it is about 20-30 hours of homework/studying. It is tough, but you can do it!

Goodwin College Spring 2018 ASN Program

I'm so sorry.. I know it is very discouraging. I was having a mini melt down the past 2 semesters. Like I'm stuck. I'm never going to get in. It is so disheartening. Maybe take some time to yourself. Skip next semester and find a place to work that you like. and study for the Teas still and take it for the Summer enrollment. This process seems unfair. Taking a test doesn't make you a good nurse. You have a great GPA and are an amazing student from knowing that. We sometimes have to fight harder for what we want. And it seems unfair I lost out on a great job opportunity last semester waiting to hear whether I was accepted or not for Fall. Had an offer at St Francis. But of course they can't be flexible with school. So i couldn't make a decision until i heard. As always they wait till the last days before enrollment to tell you and I lost out on the offer. I was really discouraged and felt lost. I wanted to give up. Take a break if needed, but don't give up on something you've worked hard towards

Goodwin College Spring 2018 ASN Program

Please don't give up Peacelove889. I had to try several times. I have a hard time taking tests. I was on the deans list, had extra points for getting associates (since i went that route by not getting in last 2 times). Keep your head up and keep trying. It is VERY competitive. Just keep taking courses towards your bachelors. That way when you graduate, you will graduate with your bachelors instead of associates. :) Also.. Go on the ATI site and print out all the review info they give you for what you need help with. That helped me ALOT. and get the ATI TEAS secrets study guide on amazon. It has practice tests and a great book.

    Hold out for Goodwin?

Hello All! I recently applied for Goodwin and missed the Nursing program admission by 1 point. Funny thing is that if I had applied for the class before, I would have had enough points to get in. I was heart broken to see that although I made dean's list, had extra points for Associates, and scored a bit higher than alot of others on their TEAS that shared, i was rejected. A few friends said to try other colleges. But I feel like I should keep trying with Goodwin. This was my second time applying. I will apply again for the Spring. Am I being silly, should I apply elsewhere? I've heard Goodwin has a great nursing program. Anyone who's graduated as an RN from Goodwin, advice? Worth it?

    Goodwin College Summer 17'

That'd be great :) I'm hoping we get in next time.. I got a 74.7 on the Teas, had a 3.5, and extra points for Associates. I had hope once i read the summer class got in with 16. I was also devastated when I saw the rejection letter. 1 point away Just have to study harder and get a better score on the TEAS. This point system really sucks, but heard worth the wait. Let's not give up and push one another! We got this for Spring

    Goodwin College Summer 17'

I contacted them as I may have had something interfere with classes. All Chelsea said was that we would know before Fall registration. Which opens the 19th. So I'm assuming we'll get our letters this week.

    Teas test 6..SAD AND MAD

I recommend buying a book on amazon. It's like $35 right now. I paid $50. It's ATI TEAS Secrets study guide. It was great and had full length practice tests in the back. It was almost like the Dummies books. Like Chemistry for dummies for example. it broke it down easy and gave tips. Really helped my frame of mind. It also has links to video tutorials.

    Good TEAS Score?

I got a 74.7% I studied so hard for the math portion as I was petrified I'd fail it as I'm not great in math, and ended up doing best in Math. lol.. Probably took away from time studying toward the other areas. I thought I had done better. But after finding out the average was 66.1, I didn't feel so sick. Just so tough to compete in a points system. Not all great nurses, or even people, are good test takers. You can be great at your job and not take written well, or do amazing on tests, but not be the best at your job. We just have to keep our head up and keep trying. Makes me more nervous as I know the actual nursing program is really hard. If we worry over this, I fear what's to come.. lol :)

I've been reading a ton of posts, and anxiously waiting. I emailed Chelsea (nursing) to ask, and she said they were still working on the scoring. I read above that May class was accepted with 16 points. Which I thought I had no chance as I have 16 as well, knowing other classes in the past the least was 18. This gives me hope. I have checked my mail everyday just praying. I almost died when I saw the thin envelope thinking it was a rejection, but was the deans list. lol.. I read it can take up to 6 weeks. Fall registration starts the 19th, so has to be before then. I know we all just hope for sooner than later. We all want this! Good luck to you :)
