  1. GPA and Job Question!!!!!!

This completely depends on the area you are applying to work in. Employers in highly competitive areas (CA, NY, etc.) WILL ask for your GPA and many even go over your transcripts to see where your weaknesses were in school. Yes if you pass your NCLEX...
  2. Typical cellular data use in NS

You literally don't need any of this technology for nursing school. Apple watches are going to get wet, get covered in body fluids, and won't connect to most hospital equipment and even if they did you can't connect your personal devices to patient r...
  3. Question on injections

You called yourself a nurse. You are not a nurse.
  4. Question on injections

Yes, that is how licensing works
  5. Vanderbilt MSN 2017

These programs typically look at the applicant as a whole so I wouldn't read too much into stats. But I was accepted and I had 162 verbal, 160 quantitative, and 5 on analytical writing on the GRE. Undergrad GPA was a 3.57 and prereq GPA was a 4.0. I ...
  6. Vanderbilt MSN 2017

Hi, I'm sorry I just saw this! I believe pre-specialty and direct entry are the same? I am from California and I did my Vandy interview over the phone, the interviewers were great. And I had a bachelors in psychology and a year of work experience as ...
  7. Already failed three exams in one class! Help!

Studying for nursing exams is really different because most of the time questions are on application and not just if you know the knowledge or not. I would really suggest picking up any review book (I use the Davis Success series) that has practice N...
  8. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

A super quick glance at your other threads shows you are at a community college, aka ADN program, soooo clearly you didn't read anyone's comments that it would only be possible in an ADN program....
  9. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

I said it was not possible to do it WELL. I doubt they are studying as much as they need to to actually become the best nurses possible if they even pass the NCLEX. Even if they are getting good grades (doubtful), good grades do not make a good nurse...
  10. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

LOL when you actually get experience in nursing school come back and comment on this thread. Until then keep living in a fantasy
  11. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

MAYBE in an ADN as people have said, although I still doubt that because ADN programs are very intense as well, but any other program you are in class or clinical from at least 8 am-4 or 5 pm every day. On top of that, you will have assignments/study...
  12. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

You have a lot of people telling you it's not physically possible but you still want to argue that you will be that "one exception." Good luck with that
  13. Nursing Student and Working Fulltime

It's DEFINITELY not possible to work 12 hour days (full time), have a family, and do well in nursing school. And by do well I mean actually learn the material and be able to take the best care of patients possible, not just get good grades. You haven...
  14. Health Care is Not a Right

You didn't specify your gender in the post. Regardless, message is the same
  15. Health Care is Not a Right

But the real question is why are all of you trying to send OP to the US, we don't want them either -.-
  16. Nursing or USC?

This is so silly. First, if your heart isn't 100% in nursing, don't even bother entering a nursing program because you will not want to keep up with the workload if it isn't your passion (or at least something you're sure about). Second, think of a s...
  17. Pre-nursing: How to answer NCLEX q's before RN school (or mastering them)

I think you are missing the larger message here- if you aren't able to handle a class not being perfectly set up to suit your learning style, do not waste your time (or take a spot that could be filled by someone who won't say "if it doesn't work out...
  18. Pre-nursing: How to answer NCLEX q's before RN school (or mastering them)

I completely second roser13. Honestly after seeing several of your posts the only thing I would tell you is please do not even go into nursing school. Every class you take is "terrible" and you always blame the professors for your inability to study ...
  19. Offered a job, but...need advice on this

You don't seem like you want advice, you seem like you want to argue. People on here have given you options-either turn down the job or offer to work part time. If you know for a fact they will not do part time then turn down the job. Simple.
  20. Nursing school Q: 1 min/1 question?

Welcome to nursing school. 1 minute is plenty of time. Also, you can't go back and reread questions on the NCLEX either.
  21. Columbia University MDE 2017

I'm not sure how much I can say because I honestly though I had no chance of getting in (I did get in though and am attending the MDE/DNP for psych). But from my personal experience I would say get clinical experience in the specialty you are interes...
  22. USF MSN-CNL non-nurse summer 2017

Got an acceptance call as well but I will be turning it down
  23. "This is the one time in my life where I am not surrounded by other men and I feel sad and alone." Oh no, so sad. Women are constantly undermined, outcasted, and treated as inferior out in the world as well as in their careers. But it must be hard to...
  24. U Penn Second Degree ABSN 2017

Just a heads up I was on the waitlist for Psych BSN/MSN originally and got an offer today which I just turned down so hopefully that means good news for whoever is next in line!
  25. Vanderbilt MSN 2017

have you already accepted Columbia's offer? I absolutely loved both school's programs and Vanderbilt's interviewers really sold me on the school but I couldn't beat living in NYC and the clinical sites that will be available at Columbia
