I got my schedule for my first semester of nursing school and it has a class called Professional Development, but it doesn't have a certain day or time.... what is that class????

It might be a way of listing your orientation session(s).

Each school has its own curriculum and not all have a class specifically labelled "professional development." We can only speculate.

Can you contact your school to ask about that? Have you checked the school catalogue?

Specializes in Peds HH, LTC.

While each school is different, two different schools that I have gone to had a similar professional development course, which entails legal and ethical issues. But like the previous poster suggested, you should call the school, especially since there's no time/dates on your schedule.

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry, IV therapy, mgmt.

Your school catalog has official descriptions of each class. You need to consult it. If you don't already have a copy, shame on you. You need a copy to keep with your transcripts forever. You can usually purchase one from the college bookstore or, more often today, you can download a copy for free online from the college website.

no, i do have a catalog; however, it does not list the professional development course... SO i'm gonna have to take the hard route of calling (it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get anybody on the phone)
