So how do you get those cool jobs where you travel to different hospitals/clinics/etc and train staff members on new products? I think that would be an amazing job. Does anyone have any input?

Sounds more like you're looking for a sales rep job rather than an education position. You'd have to look for companies whose products interest you and apply with them.
I'm not sure about that. Everyone I have talked to has been RN's and they say that is a requirement (usually BSN). It sounds like the companies want RNs to be doing this education. Our unit recently got new cardiac monitors, new safe patient handling equipment, and new protective barrier items. All educators for all of these items were RNs.
These RNs were more than likely employed by the companies selling the products. We've had surgical technologists, x-ray technicians, and nurses leave our OR to work for companies selling those products. Our reps for many products are RNs who used to work in hospitals (not necessarily ours). They provide initial education when the product is introduced to the hospital and also come in from time to time- some show up for all surgeries using their products.

You apply to the companies. They prefer BSN and want the RN to have experience in the area the device is being used. Specialty certification will help like CCRN. So if it is a Balloon pump or Swan Ganz/PA monitoring...the want an ICU nurse so they ICU nurses can have applicable tips and tricks of actual uses and can give feed back to the company of application uses/issues.
So, I assume you would have to apply through companies like Philips, Medtronic, etc. I have been watching those sites for jobs since I got my nursing license 5 years ago. Nothing is EVER posted for anything like that. Maybe I am not looking under the right job description? Hmmmmm.....
