Procedures srep by step? Need Help

G'day Student Enrolled Nurse here,

First of all I want to say that there are many people who have helped on this site and I am very grateful. I graduate as an Enrolled Nurse in 1 month from today, it has been a long 2 yrs but a very fast 6 months as well.

Alas I have but one last request to help get everything in final order.

We have to have skills signed off in a record book we carry and there a few things that if we dont get the opportunity to perform we then need to research them and discuss with our DON, so I was wondering if anyone could help me with either good links to sites that will have the information or please post the steps involved in the various procedures I am listing below.

Thanks

Collecting a stool speciman

Detecting occult blood in a stool

Applying a condom urinary drainage

Positioning a person - orthopnoeic

Collecting a wound drainage speciman

PEG feeding

There werent as many as I thought there would be but I stil wanted to make sure I get it right.

Hello

As you started your post with G'day, i will guess that you are an Aussie.

If so, we use a book called Clinical Psychomotor Skills by Joanne Tollefson that should have all of those skills in it.

If not, the website http://nursing.about.com/ has lots of skills listed on it.

Congrats on graduating soon :balloons:

Thanks for this link! I had no idea that about.com would have this.
