Did ypu take the toefl already? Or no need? Im planning to endorse my license as well in nevada, thank you!

I dont know but my school sent all the requirements last week and they just issued me a permanent license today.. I think the reason why they didnt require me to do toefl is bcoz I've been working for more than 3yrs now as LVN and I also studied my lvn here in CA..

Heres an update regarding my reciprocity on nevada...they just need a written explanation why i do t have a license in the philippines... And if the letter is valid they will waived the local license requirement.,,

Since Jan. 2013, the NV BON has like in CA made one of the requirements to obtain a RN license: a copy of the country's local nursing license.

I think the one possible option is to write to them and let them know that you're a US citizen and as such the PH nursing board does not allow USC to apply for the local nursing license AND give them a copy of your US passport. If you're dual citizen, then, it will probably not be a valid reason, since you could have taken the NLE exam and passed.

If the two above doesn't apply to you and you're a PH citizen, then, there's a chance it will be the one reason to reject the whole application. That is until you can provide them a valid PH nursing license.

But I think in the future, many State's BON's will no longer accept any reasons or excuses, even if one is a US passport carrier and a US citizen or green card holder, etc.

Since may 2013 also they are requiring those rn who applied for reciprocity to take english proficiency exam... Before they are just waiving the english exam when you just apply for reciprocity/ endorsement

I talked to one of the analyst and told me to put that you really want to work in Nevada,

This maybe due to the flood of foreign applicants doing for the endorsement since CA is very difficult with the enforcement of the concurrency rules and NV being the closest to the CA borders.

If that's a valid reason you were told, go for it, but it does seem odd as being the excuse and not the reason for not having a local country's nursing license.

Of course, these evaluators don't always know what the other ones might be thinking and if the application is denied for the reason stated, it might be harder to say "that's what one of your analyst said", then you would have to file for an appeal if NV allows that.

There's been a recent posting that NV is no longer accepting any more new foreign applications to get the ATT, so I think those trying to endorse may be okay for now, but as one can clearly see, the NV BON can quickly change and implement the application process in a very quick manner, such as now requiring the local country's license, the new English examination requirement.

Here's the recent thread (June 2013) on NV slowly closing the door on the ATT: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/applying-nclex-rn-841563.html

They made changes last may 2013 , They also implement English proficiency exam for those who endorse their license in nevada... usually they waived that requirement before may 2013

some of the changes they made since may 2013 , regarding english proficiency exam and Local License

BEFORE MAY 2013

AFTER MAY 2013
