The lpn program @ my community college starts every fall. I'm not sure I'll have my pre-reqs and everything done in time for this fall. Should I just wait til next fall or apply to a private/tech school that doesn't have pre-reqs/waiting lists +& so I could start this fall.I also would like to move out of my mom's house (I have a daughter). If I go the community college way I could work+save money for a few months +& move out. If I start this fall @ a private/tech school I could still work part time but I wouldn't be able to move. What should I do?

It couldn't hurt to apply even if you think you don't have enough credits. Talk to the counselor to find out which classes are most important. In my program, some of our classes could be taken with the program as long as we had high enough ACT scores & if you weren't accepted, you earned an extra point toward next year. Although, as rigorous as our course is, I don't know how some of my classmates managed the time to do the work in the additional classes, but they did.
I opted for the community college, even though I waited an extra year to get in (but worked on my pre-req's while waiting) because of the ENORMOUS price difference. approx. $5,000 for my cc program and $25,000+ for the private school.
That's about how much my cc program is. The private school is about 14k.

i say wait for the community college, it will save u thousands in debt, just work and save money and enjoy the time to urself cuz when u go to lpn school u will be giving up ur life, i did but it was worth it, i know some private schools that cost 30k while college is only 5 so u do the math and save urself 25 k
