There's a good site that has loads of information on student loans - and about different kinds, etc. You might want to read a few of the articles on StudentLoans.net | Our free and easy to use calculator - hope that helps! :)
I use Wells Fargo for my student loans. Because I am only 21, I still have to file a FAFSA using my parents' information, even though they don't help me anymore. I only received $2,500 a quarter in Federal student loans, and my tuition alone is $10,000 a quarter, not to mention books, room, board, and general living expenses. Anyways, for some people taking out private loans is just unavoidable.
When I was applying for my loans, I just filled out the forms online, and it hardly took anytime. I entered my state and city, and then a drop down menu of all the eligible schools in my city appeared. You will be able to tell from that whether your school is eligible or not, so you don't have to go through the entire process of applying before you know if your school is eligible.
Yeah I'll also mention that in some cases I think it's just easier to take out a small personal loan. I also got info from http://www.personalloans.org when I was thinking about what to do, what kind of loan, etc.

For those of you who have or had private student loans (Wells Fargo) and are or attended nursing school was it possible to defer the payments while attending the NS program or how did you deal with this?
In the Wells Fargo website it says only "eligible" schools will qualify, but what if my school is not under the wells fargo eligible schools?
I guess I just want to know how people in my situation dealt with this issue.
Thanks,
Eddie
