Ya. How'd you know haha...I currently live in Tucson working at UMC. I really love the hospital but I'm debating on moving to flagstaff because I love flagstaff, but I'm scared that the economy is hurting FMC because my friend said people are getting called off at least once a pay period. Here in Tucson I'm still able to pick up overtime. I've always wanted to go to NAU. I got my ADN at Yavapai College in Prescott. So I got some decisions to make, but regardless at least the RN to BSN program is Distant Learning.

I have a friend that works in LTC and she got called off twice this last pay period. So, seems there is alot of that going around.....
I can see doing this if one is getting the RN license. Good choice to avoid delays. You can pay the money back. Would think about it more if one were only getting the LPN license out of it. Most of the private schools in my area cost about $24000 for the LVN course. It all boils down to whether you can afford it to begin with or believe you can pay off the loans. Better to be working and paying off loans than to still be dealing with rejections, lotteries, and/or waiting lists.

I totally agree! Here in AZ the LPN programs range from $3K-$8K. So, that to me is a good deal! I have heard about LPN programs for $20K and I nearly fell out laughing! But, in all fairness not every area has the LPN for a reasonable cost. Quite frankly, the tuitions here have increased for the LPN as well. The $8K program was just $4K 2 1/2 years ago......

Oh no doubt. I transferred to NAU for my RN-BSN. I start either summer or fall.
