I work as a CNA in a LTC and one of our resident's has a private duty CNA. Today the aide showed up with the resident in the dining room, she starts distributing trays to other residents, and ordering me around about which resident I should feed and how I should do it. Did I mention she started feeding other residents. What should I do? She doesn't work here, her actions and behaviors are obnoxious. I asked the nurse about it but was told that they were to busy to intervene at that time. Any advice?

Let your manager or supervisor know right away! If nothing else it could be a liability nightmare for them as she has not gone through hiring protocols as relates to TB testing, background check, etc.

If it happens again, notify management ASAP. And if she starts bossing you around, politely say, "Thank you for sharing" and continue to do what you need to do and what you're trained to do. She is not your supervisor and she is not above you.
