Well, Walgreens sells it for about 150$ a vial for the 10000u/ml concentration, so that nurse must be a little mixed up.

That's better !
Yes, it's an expensive vial, but $150.00 per 1ml vial is way closer to the truth.
We use epo daily for all our dialysis paitents..all the new paitents start out automatically on 10,000 units q tx. for about 6 weeks... and are then adjusted per algorythm according to their hgb.
We are under constant pressure to watch our overfill and bleed those tiny little vails dry.. to the last micro droplet ! Special syringes and all just for that.
In my drug book in my PDA (Epocrates), they list Epogen as being this priced:
2000U/mL (1 vial, 1mL) $24.99
3000U/mL (1 vial, 1mL) $36.99
4000U/mL (1 vial, 1mL) $48.99
10,000U/mL (10 vials, 1mL) $1180.98
40,000U/mL (10 vials, 1mL) $4898.88
10,000U/mL (2mL) $249.98
20,000U/mL (10mL) $2533.90
Hope that helps you a bit :)
