I went to Pittsburgh yesterday, stayed the night, & went to take my NCLEX this morning at 8am. All I can say is WOW!
I graduated a couple months ago on 09/01, valedictorian of my class, & scheduled the test the moment I received my ATT. I was excited to take this test & prepared extensively (ATI all through school, NCSBN 3wk learning extension course, Exam Cram with CD, Saunders, Kaplan, NCLEX 4000). Went into this test feeling a bit intimidated, but as prepared as I felt I could possibly be.
NOT! This was the most difficult experience with a test that I've ever had! I ended up with approximately 30 SATA (of course, my weakest type of question format), 2 math, 1 picture...I only knew the answer of 5 or 6 of my 85 questions. I left that test after 2hrs, 10min feeling like the most incredibly dumb human being on the planet. I can only explain it one way...It was almost as if I had never gone to school, knew nothing, & took the test blind!
Drove two hours to get home feeling shocked, numb, angry, & crying half the way. I barely put the truck into park, jumped out, ran in, & did the PVT ...got the "The candidate has previously passed this exam. A new appointment cannot be scheduled" message & broke down into tears again (the I can't breathe or talk type of tears). The entire trip home I was convinced I failed. I am so leary to believe the PVT & actually celebrate in any way or acknowledge the fact that it is over. I will check the PA BON website & if nothing is posted by the end of the 48hrs, will pay for the quick results just so I can know that I never have to take that test again!
I am so impressed with those of you who have been unsuccessful in your first or more attempts at taking this exam that have dusted off & gone back to take it over & over (in some of your situations). My heart goes out to you & I can truly say that you have got to be some pretty strong people to have been able to do so! Truly impressive.
I am praying to the Lord that I've passed, but just had to let everyone that is reading these boards that wonder if they're the only ones that feel like an idiot when they leave, you are not alone! If you are still to test, please don't let that feeling bring you down too far should you feel that when you leave the testing center. It seems to be a common feeling amongst us:)

hi! I am from the Halloween thread. I also took the PVT this evening after our flight home on the seaplane from the island where I took the exam and I also got the 'good' pop-up.
I also cried all day! I was so sure that I failed when the computer shut down after 75 questions, 2 hours! I really thought it meant that I failed, it felt like I knew NOTHING.
I actually did not have that many SATA questions, NO math and one ECG strip to interpret.
I so hope that this PVT is true.
Wishing you the best! I took my exam through California, so I have to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the results, because Cali does not have quick results.
I prayed all week that I wouldn't have a headache before my exam and God answered my prayer, but I have one now, think I'll go to bed with a hot milky drink!
By the way, if the PVT is true and I passed this exam, then it is only by God's grace!

Any news cloudwatcher??? I, like many others, have a lot more faith in the PVT trick having experienced the good pop up & gotten confirmation of it's accuracy. I pray you receive the peace of mind you need soon & can put away your study materials as I have now done:)
hi trachkids! I've been checking the Cali BON site for the past three days for my name, nothing until this morning. I suddenly remembered though that they are a few hours behind us in time, so I just checked AGAIN and my name is THERE!!!!!!!
whoopwhoop!
It is truly a miracle, I was totally convinced that I failed when I walked out of that room after only 75 questions. I cried and kept on saying sorry to my husband for all the wasted money!
And then I passed after all?!
I am so thrilled, but I will only REALLY believe it once I hold that card in my hands!
I know my husband will be wanting to PARTY tonight! haha
I'm going to put my books away RIGHT now!
Have a good weekend! and congratulations to you again! :dancgrp:
